Abstract:
PURPOSE: A method for controlling an ATM switch having an open-type structure within an RNC(Radio Network Controller) of a mobile communication system is provided to enable an additional function, and to add an interface function only with a GSMP(General Switch Management Protocol) of a control processor, without influencing an independent model function when replacing with a common ATM switch, thereby easily interworking with an open-type ATM switch. CONSTITUTION: An RNC sets a switch model identifier, and requests a connection setup/cancellation of an ATM switch control block(410). The ATM switch control block assigns necessary parameter values according to the switch model identifier(420), and distinguishes the switch model identifier. If the switch model identifier is a GSMP-based independent model, the control block directly transmits an IPC message used during inter-processor communication in a GSMP-based independent model ATM switch, and performs a switch control function(430). If connected to a GSMP complying switch, the block converts an IPC type into a message type(450), and transmits an additional message to a switching processor(460). A GSMP message is encapsulated(470). The additional message is supplied with a function, depending on whether the GSMP complying switch(480).
Abstract:
PURPOSE: An inter-RNC(Radio Network Controller) connection method in a radio communication system is provided to efficiently transmit a bearer by using a minimum of ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Module) address resources between an RNC and an RNC in a handover and reducing the load of an interface module. CONSTITUTION: A serving RNC determines a VPI(Virtual Path Identifier) value for bearer allocation for inter-RNC connection. Using the determined VPI value, a G-RNC(Global-RNC) reads the address of the cell transmitted from the serving RNC and determines an output port to route to a drift RNC.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A method for processing a call connection of an advanced mobile communication system RNC(Radio Network Controller) is provided to create and transmit a message to be transmitted to an upper or a lower layer of an SCCP(Signal Connection Control Part) by using call connection information and a hash value according to a kind of the message, thereby preventing collision between reference numbers in a No.7 SCCP layer. CONSTITUTION: If a message is transmitted from an upper layer of an SCCP(311-101), the SCCP creates an input number, and creates a hash value with the input number. The SCCP maps the created hash value with a lower primitive by a reference number, and transmits the value to a lower MTP(Message Transfer Part)(311-102). If the message is transmitted upward from the SCCP(311-103), the SCCP extracts a connection point and a reference number. The SCCP makes either of an 'up_ref' value and a 'dn_ref' value stored in call connection information(311-108) a reference number, and upward transmits the reference number to an AP(Application Protocol)(311-104). The call connection information(311-108) includes the reference numbers, and consists of information for performing primitive mapping between upper and lower layers.

PURPOSE: A call processing method for processor duplexing in a wireless communication system is provided to restore data of an active board in a standby board and synchronize the two boards when they are needs to be switched due to the occurrence of failure. CONSTITUTION: Initialization is performed to load a task and data related to call information are all backup(201). When a message is received, it is checked whether the message is a normal message or a duplexing related message(202). If the received message is the normal message, it is processed in an original routine and dynamic data are updated(203,204). If the received message is the duplexing related message, a standby board is switched to an active board and a dynamic/static data restoration and data synchronization algorithm is executed(205-207).

PURPOSE: An adaptive loop gain control circuit for voltage controlled oscillator is provided to obtain a stable operational characteristic by compensating the oscillating control current and a gain of a PLL(Phase Locked Loop) according to a supply voltage and a variation of temperature. CONSTITUTION: An adaptive loop gain control circuit for voltage controlled oscillator includes a detection voltage generator(210) and a control circuit(220). The detection voltage generator(210) generates a detection voltage signal corresponding to a driving voltage and a variation of temperature. The control circuit(220) outputs an oscillation control current signal corresponding to the detection voltage signal and an input control voltage signal. The detection voltage generator(210) includes a noise filter in order to remove noise elements from the detection voltage signal. The noise filter is formed with a resistance and a capacitor.

PURPOSE: A turbo permutator and a turbo decoder using the same are provided to form the turbo permutator suitable for the turbo decoder by using a sliding window method. CONSTITUTION: A turbo permutator includes a deinterleaving address generator(100), an interleaving row/column address generator(101,102), an address mapper(103), multiplexers(104,106), and a permutator memory(107). The deinterleaving address generator is used for generating a deinterleaving address value according to a predetermined bit number. The interleaving row/column address generators are used for outputting interleaving row/column address values according to the bit number and a row/column number. The multiplexers is used for selecting one of the deinterleaving address value and an output value of the address mapper. The permutator memory is used for outputting the output values corresponding to the input data.

PURPOSE: A method for operating an interleaver memory is provided to divide a memory area of one interleaver memory into several banks, and to store channel data in blank banks, so as to improve memory use efficiency when a plurality of subscribers access a base station. CONSTITUTION: If a writing operation is requested(1), a micro controller(10) decides a sub modulator and a modulator unit(140)(2), and reads a bank state register of a bank controller(120) to recognize locations and sizes of blank banks(3). The micro controller(10) calculates the number of consecutive blank banks and a bank of a minimum start address(4), and writes data in a bank allocation register(5). The bank state register of the bank controller is set(51). The micro controller(10) respectively stores calculated values in a frame offset register, an address offset register and a spreading factor value register of the modulator unit(140)(6). The micro controller(10) receives channel data for interleaving and sequentially writes the channel data in the blank banks of an interleaver memory(7). A frame controller of the modulator unit(140) generates a frame synchronous signal(61). If the frame synchronous signal is 1(one)(62), a memory read address and control signal generator of the modulator unit(140) generates a read address, a memory selection signal and a read signal(63), and produces a signal for reading the channel data stored in the interleaver memory by referring to the values stored in the registers(64). The channel data are read and provided to each modulator unit(140), then modulated(65). If the channel data stored in the interleaver memory are completely read, the memory read address and control signal generator generates a flag signal to notify the completion of interleaving(66).

PURPOSE: A variable gain amplification circuit of an automatic gain control is provided, which achieves a pseudo exponential function with a simple configuration, and prevents power consumption. CONSTITUTION: A fixed resistor part(R) receives an electric signal, and a variable resistor part(r) is connected to the fixed resistor part serially and has a plurality of NMOS transistors connected in parallel each other by applying different control voltage. The fixed resistor part has the plurality of NMOS transistors operating in a saturated area. The variable resistor part acts as one variable resistor by connecting the plurality of NMOS transistors in parallel operating in a linear area.
