Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for manufacturing a liquid jet recording head in which throughput can be enhanced by simplifying the optical system while enhancing the utilization efficiency of laser beam at the time of machining a jet port through irradiation with laser beam. SOLUTION: An optical fiber bundle 7 comprising a plurality of optical fibers is secured by a securing member 8 at each emission side end face thereof such that it corresponds to the jet port forming position of a jet port forming member (work) 10 constituting a liquid jet recording head. A laser beam 2 from a laser oscillator 1 is shaped through a beam shaping optical system 6 and entered into an optical fiber bundle 8. The laser beam emitting from the emitting end face of each optical fiber in the optical fiber bundle 8 is projected while being demagnified through a projection optical system 9 onto the work 10 secured to a work station 11 thus machining all or a plurality of jet ports of the work 10 collectively.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent imperfect jetting of liquid even when the positioning face of a grooved member is not abutting correctly on a substrate due to some cause by directing the positioning face of the substrate toward the heat generating side of a jetting energy generating part having a smaller heat generating area. SOLUTION: The ink jet head comprises a jet port plate 14 integrated with a grooved plate 12 having the opposite end parts integrally formed with reinforcing blocks. Inner side face of the reinforcing block is utilized as an abutting face for positioning and positioning of the grooved plate 12 and a substrate is carried out by abutting one side end face of the substrate against the abutting face for positioning. The heat generating part 17 in each liquid channel 16 having a small heat generating area is located closer to the one side end face of the substrate than an adjacent heat generating part 18 having a large heat generating area. Since the heat generating part 17 is shifted to the central side of the liquid channel 16, inconvenience due to driving of the heat generating part 17 is eliminated and a liquid droplet 33 can be formed stably.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To in expansively and easily carry out the mass-production by a method wherein a plurality of short sub-units, each of which is equipped with energy-generating elements for ejecting ink, are arranged on a base plate, and gaps between the sub-units are filled with fluid hardening materials. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of sub-units (silicon base plate units) 2, on which energy-generating elements 1 are patterned are arranged on a base plate 3, and are respectively fixed to the base plate 3 with screen-printed thermosetting adhesive in the thickness of several mum. After the adhesive is cured, silicone sealant is dropped to the rear part on each of the gaps between the base plate units 2, and the gaps are filled with the sealant by capillary action. After the base plate units 2 and PCB boards already stuck to the base plate 3, are connected together by wire bonding, a top plate 5 having ink ejecting ports 6 is joined, and an ink jet recording head is completed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the relative dislocation by temporarily bonding a top board member onto a heater board by an adhesive, and fixing temporarily both bonded members onto a board through a spring member, and setting the position of adhesive application apart from the fixing position. CONSTITUTION:A top board member 104, where nozzle holes corresponding to each heater are made, is placed on a heater board 102, where a plurality of heaters for ink heating are made, and adhesives 80a and 80b are applied on one of them, and each other's adhesive faces are temporarily boded. The temporarily bonded heater board 102 and the top board member 104 are fixed firmly onto the board with a spring member 122 for fixation. At this time, the top board 104 and the heater board 102 are positioned relatively with a positioning mechanism. Moreover, the right and left feet 112a and 112b of the spring member 122 are inserted into the mounting hole 208c of the base member 208, in close vicinity to both side margins of the heater board 102. And the application areas of the adhesives 80a and 80b are set apart from the heater arranged region, so the adhesion is not marred, and the dislocation is prevented.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To adhere a top plate to a heater board in a short time by applying an ultraviolet hardening adhesive to between the top plate member and the heater board, and providing an ultraviolet ray passing hole in that place on a finger which mates with the adhesive applying position. CONSTITUTION:A pair of suction members 26b, 26c as finger to grasp the top plate are installed at the foremost of the body 26a of a mounting mechanism 26, and a suction holes are opened in the under-surfaces of these suction members 26b, 26c'. The communication pipes penetrating the suction members 26b, 26c are connected with a negative pressure generating mechanism and a positive pressure generating mechanism selectively via respective selector valves, and hold the top plate sucked to the under-surfaces of the suction members 26b, 26c or pull the plate away from them. In each suction member 26b, 26c, a hole 57 is formed whose one end is open at the under-surface to the adhesive applying position and while other end is open at the over-surface and which admits for ultraviolet rays cast onto the other end opening through a light guide 56 to penetrate till the under-surface opening.

CONSTITUTION:A top plate is placed on a heater board in such a condition that the placing position is not fixed accurately, and No.2 suction member on the movable side is moved in the X-axis direction, and an ink receipt hole in the top plate is contacted with the end face of No.1 suction member. Thereby the top plate position in the X-axis direction is fixed approximately. Then the No.2 suction member is stopped moving, and a detent piece is moved, and an orifice plate is butted to the foremost end-face of the heater board. Thereby the top plate position in the Y-axis direction is fixed approximately. That is, a sensor is actuated, and the detent piece is stopped moving. The thickness correcting is performed to optimize the position relationship between the top plate and suction members.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To carry out more accurate and high speed positioning work by moving the first and the second members relatively to make the set positions of both members coincident depending on the first and the second set positions detected by the first and the second detecting processes. CONSTITUTION:The first member 102 is separated a specified interval from the focusing position. Then the second member 104 is moved to the upper side of the first member 102, the second member 104 is dropped on the first member 102, and the first and the third surfaces are contacted with each other closely. Then, the second member 104 is pulled to contact closely the fourth surface of the second member 104 to the second surface of the first member 102. In such a closely contacted condition, the fifth surface is photographed, and depending on the photographed image data, the set position of the second member 104 is detected. Then, depending on the first and the second set positions detected in the first and the second detecting processes, both the first and the second members 102 and 104 are moved relatively, so as to make the set positions of both member coincident.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a liquid jet recording head in which the jetting direction of liquid drop can be stabilized without requiring any special step by increasing the opening area of the jet port in a jet port plate on the jet face side and varying the surface properties on the periphery of the jet port and print characteristics can be improved while enhancing throughput of manufacture. SOLUTION: At the time of collective abrasion of jet ports 23 through irradiation with a coherent laser light L, a jet port plate 21 is irradiated with a laser light M on the jet face side thereof in order to cut off the part 24 on the jet face side of the jet port plate 21 thus making thin the part for forming the jet port. At the same time, surface properties are varied on the jet face of the jet port plate 21 and adhesion of byproduct is prevented at the time of forming the jet port.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain a resin surface from being turned hydrophilic because of a by-product adhering to a resin blank surface without setting a special process, increase a throughput in manufacturing products, and improve print quality when a discharge opening is to be processed by projecting an excimer laser light to the resin blank. SOLUTION: When a laser light L is projected to a discharge opening plate 21 of a top plate constituting a liquid-jet recording head thereby processing a hole, i.e., a discharge opening through integral ablation, gas molecules 26 having fluorine atoms in a structure are sprayed to a processing part from a nozzle 25 arranged near the processing part. The gas molecules 26 generate highly reactive fluorine atoms when the laser light is projected. A by-product 24 generated by the projection of the laser light L is chemically processed through a surface modification by the highly reactive fluorine atoms, and a surface of the by-product is fluoridized. The liquid-jet recording head is thus prevented from being hydrophilic because of the adhesion of the by-product.
