Abstract:
This application relates to novel aqueous oral care compositions useful for combining and delivering incompatible stannous fluoride or stannous chloride and potassium salts in a high-water composition, for example, to provide effective caries prevention, protection against dental erosion, and relief from dental hypersensitivity. The compositions comprise stannous fluoride or stannous chloride, nitric acid or a water-soluble nitrate salt, a water-soluble alkali metal polyphosphate and more than 10% water, by weight of the composition.
Abstract:
A whitening composition, an oral care product including the whitening composition, and a method for whitening teeth are disclosed. The whitening composition may include an anhydrous component and an aqueous component. The anhydrous component may include a base gel and a chloroisocyanurate. The chloroisocyanurate may be present in the anhydrous component in an amount of from about 0.01 weight % to about 30 weight %, based on a totally weight of the anhydrous component. The anhydrous component may include water.
Abstract:
A whitening composition and methods for whitening teeth and generating a whitening agent with the same are provided. The whitening composition may include an orally acceptable vehicle, a source of hydrogen peroxide that provides hydrogen peroxide, and a cyclic anhydride that generates a whitening agent with the hydrogen peroxided provided by the source of hydrogen peroxide. The whitening agent may be a peracid, such as a succinic peracid.
Abstract:
A two-phase oral care whitening composition including a hydrophobic phase and a hydrophilic phase, and methods for oral care whitening teeth with the same are provided. The hydrophobic phase may include a source of hydrogen peroxide and an acyl donor. The hydrophilic phase may include an enzyme that catalyzes the generation of peracetic acid between the source of hydrogen peroxide and the acyl donor. At least one of the hydrophobic phase and the hydrophilic phase may further include at least one surfactant.
Abstract:
A solid composition for adding to water of an aqueous solution to form a whitening mouthrinse. The solid composition can be in the form of a tablet and contains a salt of peroxymonosulfate as a whitening agent.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method of forming a uniform coating onto a tooth surface, which method includes: forming droplets by spraying an orally acceptable coating material through a spray nozzle, wherein the droplets have a volume-averaged droplet size of about 1 µm to about 100 µm, wherein a spray including the droplets travels from a tip of the spray nozzle towards the tooth surface at a spray rate of less than about 10 milliliters/minute and wherein the droplets include a film-forming polymer, a therapeutic agent and/or a cosmetic agent; and depositing the droplets onto the tooth surface to thereby form a uniform coating.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a durable dental film-forming composition including an acrylate/octylacrylamide copolymer, wherein the acrylate/octylacrylamide copolymer is present in an amount of about 0.1% to about 50% by weight, an adhesive, and an orally acceptable solvent. Methods of using the composition are also disclosed.
Abstract:
Provided is product dispenser that may be used for oral care products that are composed of two different ingredients that are mixed together prior to being used. The oral care product dispenser may include at least two storage chambers, a mixing chamber, a dispensing nozzle in fluidic communication with the mixing chamber and at least one seal that keeps the contents stored in the at least two storage chambers separated during storage. The mixing chamber receives and mixes contents from the at least two storage chambers during dispensing.
