Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain dyestuffs and an ink composition for thermal transfer recording having high sublimating speed and excellent image stability after transfer by using dyestuffs being shown in specific chemical formula and having superior solubility to an ink solvent and the low melting point as the sublimating dyestuffs for thermal transfer recording. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal transfer recording system using sublimating dyestuffs, a transfer sheet, in which condenser paper, a PET film, etc., are coated with sublimating dyestuffs changed into ink, is employed, and the transfer sheet is heated selectively by a thermal head, thus conducting transfer to recording paper. Dyestuffs shown in general formula mentioned on the right are used as the sublimating dyestuffs at that time. In formula, R represents an alkyl sulfonyl group, an alkylamino carbonyl group, etc., R -R a hydrogen atom, 1-4C alkyl groups, etc., R , R the hydrogen atom, the 1-4C alkyl groups, etc., and R , the hydrogen atom, a substituted or non-substituted alkyl group, etc. The dyestuffs are kneaded with a binder resin, an organic solvent, etc., thus acquiring an ink composition for thermal transfer recording.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve both durability and preservation stability of coloring matter which is excellent in sublimation by a method wherein one or more kinds of each color to be expressed by two kinds of specific general formulas are contained to construct an yellow thermal sublimate transfer sheet for a thermal sublimate transfer system. CONSTITUTION:For a thermal sublimate transfer system, a thermal transfer sheet to which ink containing coloring matter for thermal sublimate transfer is applied, is superimposed on image receiving paper, and they are heated and fixed by pressure with a thermal head. Thereby, the coloring matter is sublimated to be transferred to the image receiving paper, and a good gradation colorful copy is obtained. In this case, respective coloring matter to be represented by two kinds of specific general formulas (1), (2) as given in the figure are contained respectively by not less than one kinds as an yellow thermal sublimate transfer sheet to be used in the abovementioned system. Then, in the general formula (1), Ar expresses a phenyl radical which may have a substituent, and R expresses an alkyl radical which may have a substituent. Further, in the general formula (2), X1-Z3 express respectively a hydrogen atom, an alkyl radical or a halogen atom.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a dye satisfying the optimum condition as a sublimable dye having both of high sublimation speed and image stability after transfer by adding at least one or more kinds of dye selected from a specific dye group. CONSTITUTION:A dye represented by general formula is obtained by the oxidative bonding of substituted anilines and substituted phenols. Thermal transfer recording ink is prepared by mixing the dye with a proper resin and a proper solvent. Since the sublimation transfer amount of the cyan dye represented by the general formula (I) can be controlled by changing the energy applied to a thermal head at the time of thermal transfer, gradation recording is easy and the dye is suitable for full color recording. Further, since this dye is stable against heat, light, humidity and chemicals, it is not thermally decomposed and the preservability of obtained recording is also excellent. This dye is good in the solubility to an org. solvent and the dispersibility to water and high concn. ink having the dye uniformly dissolved or dispersed therein is easily prepared and recording having good color density can be obtained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To control sublimable transfer amount of dye and to facilitate gradation recording by altering energy to be applied to a heat sensitive head at the time of heat transfer by using specific azo dye. CONSTITUTION:Sublimation speed at the time of transferring relates to mutual action among dye molecules, and to mutual action between dye molecules and ink binder resin. Even if the molecular weight of the dye is slightly increased, the dye having satisfactory solubility to ink solvent and lower melting point is desired, and the dye having mutual action to the binder resin for ink to be small in the degree not lose preservation stability after a ribbon is manufactured is most desirable. Dye represented by a general formula (I) obtains relatively satisfactory sublimating speed. In the formula, R1 is 4-8C alkyl group, cycloalkyl group, cyano group, etc., R2, R3 are independently alkyl group, cycloalkyl group, halogenoalkyl group, etc., X is hydrogen atom, alkyl group, halogen atom, etc., X' is alkyl group, alkoxy group, halogen atom, and Y is hydrogen atom, trifluoromethyl group, halogen atom, etc.
