    Abstract: PURPOSE:To control sublimable transfer amount of dye and to facilitate gradation recording by altering energy to be applied to a heat sensitive head at the time of heat transfer by using specific anthraquinone cyan dye. CONSTITUTION:The quantity of sublimation starting heat has no correlation directly to molecular weight itself, but relates to mutual action among colorant molecules and to mutual action between dye molecules and ink binder resin. Even if the molecular weight of the dye is slightly increased, the dye having satisfactory solubility to ink solvent and lower melting point is desired, and the dye having mutual action to the binder resin for ink to be small in the degree not lose preservation stability after a ribbon is manufactured is most desirable. Dye represented by a formula (I) exceeds 400 of molecular weight, but obtains relatively desirable sublimating speed. In the formula, R1 is alkoxycarbonylalkyl group, alkylcarbonylalkyl group having normal chain or branch, R2 is hydrogen atom, lower alkyl group, alkoxy group, alkenyl group, trifluoromethyl group, having normal chain or branch, halogen atom.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a fog-free sharp image and superior light resistance by incorporating in a binder resin a dye obtained by diazotizing a substituted aniline compound and coupling it with an N-subsituted pyridone compound. CONSTITUTION:The color toner is prepared by diazotizing the dye represented by formula I obtained by diazotizing the substituted aniline compound and coupling it with an N-substituted pyridone compound and dispersing the obtained dye into a binder resin, and in formula I, R1 is H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy; R2 is alkyl, alkoxyalkyl, aralkyl, or alkoxycarbonylalkyl; R3 is alkyl, alkoxyalkyl, or aralkyl. This yellow type color toner composition has superior melt miscibility, and the densities of images obtained by successive copying through repeating developments are stabilized, and the yellow color of the dye has good lightfastness.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To facilitate gradational recording and provide suitability for full-color recording, by using a specified anthrequinone cyan coloring matter, and controlling the quantity of the coloring matter transferred through sublimation by regulating the energy supplied to a thermal head at the time of thermal transfer. CONSTITUTION:An anthraquinone coloring matter for sublimation transfer recording of the formula, produced by esterifying a 1-substd. amino-4- bromoanthraquinone-2-carboxylic acid through an acid chloride and condensing the resultant ester with an aniline acid by the conventional method is mixed with a resin, a solvent or the like to prepare a recording ink, which is applied to e base to obtain a transfer sheet. The sheet is superposed on a recording material, and heat and pressure are applied by a thermal recording head from the back side of the sheet, whereby the coloring matter on the sheet is transferred onto the recording material. In the formula, each of R1 and R2, which may be the same or independent from each other, is a straight chain or branched lower alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, aryl, aralkyl or alkoxyalkyl, and each of R3, R4 and R5, which are the same or independent from each other, is hydrogen, a straight chain or branched lower alkyl, alkoxyl or alkenyl.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an ultraviolet absorber that gives a dyed polyester fiber and a dyed resin a lens of eyeglasses both having excellent lightfastness, by incorporating a specified dispersing agent into an ultraviolet-absorbing compound, and finely grinding the mixture. CONSTITUTION:A heat-resistant ultraviolet-absorbing compound {e.g., 2,2- methylenebis [ 4-( 1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl )-6-(2H-benzotriazol-2-yl) phenol ]}is mixed with a dispersing agent based on lignin or a condensate of naphthalenesulfonic acid with formalin. The formed mixture is dried and ground into a fine powder, thus giving an ultraviolet absorber. This ultraviolet absorber is used for high-temperature dyeing and thermosol dyeing of fiber, such as polyester fiber, and resin for a lens of eyeglasses.
