    Abstract: New polymer (I) comprises at least two polyorganosiloxane blocks, at least one of which has at least two hydrogen-bonding groups and at least one of which has at least one solar filter or antiradical group, is new. (I) is soluble in a silicone oil at 25-250degreesC and is capable of gelling the silicone oil. New polymer (I) comprises at least two motifs, each containing at least one polyorganosiloxane radical comprising 1-1000 siloxane units in the main chain or as a graft, where: (a) at least one motif comprises at least two hydrogen-bonding groups selected from ester, amide, sulfonamide, carbamate, thiocarbamate, urea, thiourea, oxamido, guanidino and biguanidino groups, provided that at least two groups are not ester groups; and (b) at least one motif comprises at least one group capable of acting as a solar filter or antiradical agent covalently bonded in the polymer chain and/or laterally and/or terminally; provided that the hydrogen bonding groups are not exclusively oxamido groups when the solar filter group is an oxamide group. (I) is soluble in a silicone oil at 25-250degreesC and is capable of gelling the silicone oil. Independent claims are also included for: (1) cosmetic or dermatological composition comprising an oil phase containing a silicone oil gelled with (I); (2) cosmetic treatment to protect the skin and natural or sensitized hair against UV radiation by applying a cosmetic composition containing (I); (3) protecting a cosmetic composition containing a light-sensitive ingredient against UV radiation by incorporating 0.25-3 wt.% (I) into the composition.
