Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moisture-curable cosmetic composition. SOLUTION: This moisture-curable cosmetic composition contains either of the following compounds (i) and (ii) in a non-aqueous medium not containing an unstable hydrogen atom and capable of being accepted as a cosmetic solvent. (i). (a) At least one first compound containing at least two non-blocked reactive functional groups X, and (b) at least one second compound containing at least two blocked reactive functional groups Y which can be unblocked by the action of water to react with the unblocked reactive functional groups X of the compound A. (ii). At least one compound simultaneously containing at least two non-blocked reactive functional groups X and at least two blocked reactive functional groups Y which can be unblocked by the action of water to react with the unblocked reactive functional groups X of the compound A. It is necessary that the average functionality of the system is strictly larger than 2.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition useful for protecting a human keratinous substance such as skin from light by including a UV irradiation screening out system, an aqueous phase, a dispersion of film-nonforming polymer particles having a specific refractive index and a fatty phase having a specified refractive index therein. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by including at least one fatty phase (e.g. liquid paraffin), an aqueous phase, a hydrophilic (water-soluble) UV irradiation screening out system (e.g. p-aminobenzoic acid and its salt) and particles of a film-nonforming polymer (e.g. a polyester) therein and making the refractive index (n1 ) of the fatty phase and the refractive index (n2 ) of the particles of the film-nonforming polymer satisfy the relationship of the formula |(n2 )-(n1 )|
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermally crosslinkable cosmetic composition, particularly a thermally crosslinkable nail polish solution. SOLUTION: The objective thermally crosslinkable cosmetic composition comprises (a) at least one compound selected from compounds bearing at least two functional groups including reactive hydrogen atoms and (b) at least one compound selected from compounds bearing at least two thermally deblockable blocked isocyanate functional groups where the average functionality, namely the total number of the reactive hydrogen-including functional groups and the blocked isocyanate functional groups is exactly made larger than 2 to the total number of the molecules of the compounds (a) and (b). In this cosmetic composition, the reactive cosmetic components can be stored in the same vessel and they are allowed to crosslink with each other, when it is applied.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a copolymer usable as a composition for a cosmetic or a dermatosis, providing excellent cosmetic characteristics, water resistance and improved film-forming characteristics by using the composition. SOLUTION: A skeleton (s) is subjected to a radical polymerization or polycondensation to give a copolymer having a glass transition temperature Tg in a range of 0-30 deg.C and at least one hydrophobic macromonomer (M) having a glass transition temperature T' higher than 25 deg.C is grafted onto the skeleton chain (S).
