PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device capable of executing high-speed overwriting by one laser beam source. SOLUTION: In overwrite-recording, an optical beam emitted from a semiconductor laser 21 is split into a main beam for recording and a preceding beam for deleting by a primary beam splitter 23, the preceding beam for deleting is modulated by an external modulator 29 to attenuate a recording power equal to a deleting power, synchronized with the main beam by a second beam splitter 24 and, on the track 53 of an optical disk 11, a deleting spot 51 by the preceding beam for deleting is arranged so as to precede a recording spot 52.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slider which has a high degree of freedom for design high and is easy to manufacture at the time of recording and/or reproducing on/from a recording medium by using the near optical field. SOLUTION: At the time of recording and or reproducing on/from a recording medium, a slider 1 for an optical head is constituted by joining a catadioptric lens 7 on a slider member 3 running on the recording medium in a state floating over the recording medium or in a contact state thereon. In this case, the slider member 3 and the catadioptric lens 7 are joined into an optical one body, and an numerical aperture NA of the optical system consisting of the slider member 3 and the catadioptric lens 7 is made to 1 or larger. Moreover, a focal plane of the light made incident from the side of the catadioptric lens 7 should be arranged to be on the opposite plane of the recording medium of the slider member 3.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the sure recording and reproducing of desired data even at the time of high-density recording and reproducing by forming a cleaning cartridge loadably in an optical disk device, supplying a washing liquid stored in a washing liquid storage means to the optical head of the optical disk device and wiping the foreign matter sticking to the optical head. SOLUTION: The cleaning cartridge 10 is formed in its external shape to the same shape as the shape of the cartridge of the disk and may be loaded in the optical disk device in place of the cartridge. The cartridge 10 has a case 40 of a flat planar shape internally having a space and is arranged with a shutter 41 of the same shape as the shape of the shutter of the cartridge in the case 40. The case 40 is partitioned slender in the internal space by a wall 40A along the end face on the side reverse from the side arranged with the shutter 41 and the space is allocated to the storage tank 42. A system control circuit executes the cleaning treatment of the optical head by urging the loading of the cleaning cartridge 10.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk-like recording medium and the method and the device for data reproduction capable of preventing unauthorized copying by arranging concentric circular track regions and spiral track regions side by side on a disk-like recording medium. SOLUTION: Plural spiral track regions Tsp in which spiral shaped tracks are formed and plural concentric circular track regions Tccc in which concentric circular tracks are formed are provided on a disk-like recording medium D. By mixing the regions Tcc and Tsp , the medium D, in which the data on both tracks are not reproduced by a conventional reproducing device, is obtained. In order to reproduce the data on the medium D, discrimination is made to determine whether a present reproducing position is in the Tcc or in the Tsp and a use is made for the method and the device for data reproduction having a function to switch a reproducing condition. Thus, the disk-like recording medium and the method and the device, in which an unauthorized copy is prevented, are realized.

PURPOSE:To provide an information recording medium without losing the sense of sequence at the time of reproducing even when the sequential information signals of a video signal, etc., are recorded on plural information recording media or recording planes and to provide an information reproducing device suitable to the signal reproduction of such information recording media. CONSTITUTION:An information signal recorded on the last track of an optical disk 2A is recorded on the first track of an optical disk 2B, as well. Then, a control flag is recorded on the starting position of the last track of the disk 2A. When a control flag detection signal is received, a switching control signal is outputted to switches 14A and 14B by a system controller 16 after a specified passage of time, the switch 14A is turned off and the switch 14B is turned on. Thereafter, the information signal read out from the first track of the optical disk 2B by an optical pick-up 6B is reproduced.

PURPOSE:To reduce the fluctuation and skew of an image even when a desired video signal is brought to access at a high speed by supplying a horizontal reference signal instead of a reproducing horizontal synchronizing signal, when an area in which a video signal is not recorded in an optical disk is irradiated with a laser beam. CONSTITUTION:At the time of reproducing a recording area of an optical disk D, a reproducing horizontal synchronizing signal SPBH selected by a switching circuit 12 is inputted as a synchronizing signal of a PLL circuit 10, and reproducing data from which a jitter component is eliminated is outputted. On the other hand, at the time of rushing into an unrecorded area of the optical disk D in a reproducing state, the switching circuit 12 is inverted by a reproducing signal detecting part 11, a horizontal reference signal SH is inputted as a synchronizing signal of the PLL circuit 10, and also, muting is applied. Accordingly, to the PLL circuit 10, the synchronizing signal is supplied in a muting period as well. In such a way, when the next recording area is brought to access, a reproducing signal being free from a disturbance of an image can be outputted from the beginning.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information providing device capable of improving the security in transmission of key information from an information providing side to a user side and surely specifying the user.SOLUTION: An information providing device 200 side distributes an information medium 301 having encrypted information to a user terminal 400 side, the information providing device 200 is connected to the user terminal 400 through a communication network 300, and the information providing device 200 and the user terminal 400 transmit and receive information through the communication network 300. The information providing device 200 uses a user ID and a password belonging to the user terminal 400 to encrypt the key information required to decrypt the encrypted information of the information medium 301, and the user terminal 400 uses the user ID, the password, and a reader ID to decrypt the encrypted key information transmitted from the information providing device 200. In addition, the user terminal 400 uses the key information to decrypt the encrypted information read from the information medium 301.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly record information in an optical disk by determining a necessary address in a short period, when writing information by a plurality of light beams. SOLUTION: In an address calculation circuit 34, when the address of a light beam is detected, the address of remaining light beam at that time and the next address to be read are calculated. Then, these calculated addresses are compared with the detected addresses in a comparison circuit 32. Then, a decision circuit 36 decides whether the detected addresses and the computed addresses matches.
