Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a nonwoven fabric roller having a large effect of removing or absorbing a liquid further to be made excellent in solvent resistance and heat resistance and further to eliminate a problem of such as generation of deformation and shortening of a roller life even in use over a long period of the roller. CONSTITUTION: In a roller formed by superposing many sheets of disk-shaphed objects of nonwonven fabric sheet, the nonwoven fabric roller is constituted by a low melting point polymer fiber, high melting point polymer fiber and a compound fiber comprising a high/low melting point polymer component.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a system for efficiently producing high-quality nonwoven fabrics uniform in the thickness and physical properties in their width direction. CONSTITUTION:In producing nonwoven fabric 4 by hot, contact bonding of thermoplastic nonwoven fabric web 1 using a pair of upper and lower hot rolls 2, 3, the thickness of the sheet is measured by thickness meters 7 set up at >=3 positions along the width direction of the sheet after hot contact bonding, and the measurements are calculated by a thickness control unit 8, and from this unit, the variations from the average value are subjected to feedback to and made to interlock with a roll clearance regulator to regulate the thickness of the sheet along its width direction.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain high-quality nonwoven fabric small in the variation in basis weight and good in opacifying power, comprising sheath-core type conjugated fibers made up of polymers differing in the inorganic particle content from each other. CONSTITUTION:This nonwoven fabric excellent in opacifying power can be obtained by using sheath-core type conjugated fibers (with a single fiber fineness of 1.5-10 denier) produced by melt spinning of polymers with the sheath component being a copolyester =20 deg.C than that of the core component) and the core component a polyester higher in the inorganic particle content than the sheath component at the weight ratio of the sheath component to the core component of (30:70) to (95:5). This nonwoven fabric is suitable as nonwoven fabric for printing base material or a geotextile or agricultural material.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an emboss roll capable of preventing the generation of abrasion flaws produced by the contact of a metal on the sheet-non-passing side parts of the roll and used for the efficient production of nonwoven fabrics having various metsukes (unit weight) and sheet widths, when thermoplastic nonwoven fabric webs are thermally bonded to each other with heating rolls to produce the nonwoven fabric. CONSTITUTION:The emboss roll for thermally bonding thermoplastic nonwoven fabric webs to each other to produce the nonwoven fabric sheet is characterized by arranging non-embossed flat roll parts 4 each having a width of 30-150mm on both the sides X3 of the embossed part of the emboss roll and furthermore enlarging the roll diameter Y1 of the flat roll parts so that the diameter Y1 is equal to or larger than the roll diameter Y2 of the embossed part in the range up to 60mum.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled fibers safely without causing mutual adhesion and broken yarns of an island component, by spinning the island and sea components through a spinneret for island-in-sea type conjugate fibers having plural tubular bodies for extruding the island component from the interior thereof and an annular channel for the sea component surrounding the island component at a specific flow velocity ratio. CONSTITUTION:Island-in-sea type conjugate fibers are spun by extrusion through extrusion holes 12 of a spinneret therefor of structure in which an island component (A) is introduced from introductory holes 5 into plural tubular bodies 7 and extruded into channels 10, and a sea component (B) is passed from introductory holes 15 through an annular channel 8 therefor and extruded surround respectively the island component (A). In the process, conditions are set to make the relation between the flow velocity (Y) of the island component (A) extruding from the tubular bodies 7 to the sea component (B) extruding from the annular channel 8 for the sea component (B) at a joining part 11 of both components (A) and (B) and the melt viscosity ratio (X) of the island component (A) to the sea component (B) satisfy formula I , preferably formula II. Thus, the aimed conjugate fibers are obtained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an abrasive sheet-like stuff excellent in abrading performance with no variation by lot, by applying an emboss process to form pits and spikes on the surface of a substance made of a fiber-like material and adhesives. CONSTITUTION:An extremely fine fiber of a synthetic fiber made of polyamide, polyester, or polyacrylonitrile, with a single yarn size of 1-3d, or 1d or less, is formed into worsted multilayer webs by a carding machine, then they are entwined three-dimensionally by needle punching, etc. into a sheet-like material, which is impregnated or coated with adhesives to form a substance of an abrasive sheet. Next, an emboss process is applied to its surface to form pits and spikes so that the ratio of pits per unit area is 40-70 percent, then an abrasive sheet stuff is obtained. This sheet stuff is fitted to a rotary disk 4, and is used to abrade a silicone wafer 5 using grindgrains as a medium.

Abstract: PURPOSE:The titled ultrafine fiber, having the same color fastness as the fiber of ordinary denier, obtained by drawing a filament yarn of a diamine-terminated nylon-6 at a specific draw ratio. CONSTITUTION:A diamine-terminated nylon-6 wherein the ends of the molecule are terminated with a diamine, e.g. hexamethylenediamine, preferably as an island component, and a polystyrene as a sea component are spun into an island-in-sea type composite filament yarn or tow, which is then drawn at 40-120 deg.C at a draw ratio of 3 or more, preferably 4 or more, to give the objective ultrafine fiber of fineness per fiber 0.3 de or less and color fastness grade 3 or higher. The water content of the undrawn fiber is preferably 15wt% or less.

Abstract: PURPOSE:A synthetic resin with a low softening point is preheated up near the softening point, then melt extruded, whereby the slip between chips is improved, fusing is prevented to cause stable extrusion. CONSTITUTION:When a synthetic resin with a relatively low softening point, e.g., polystyrene is extruded, jacket 5 in which hot medium such as hot water of controlled temperature is circulated is fitted immediately before melting heater 8 and 9 to preheat the pellets of the synthetic resin up near the softening point and then the resin is melt extruded. The temperature range of the circulated hot water is preferably 0.7A-0.8A where A is the softening point of the resin. Further, feeding pipe 10 and barrel 3 as well as jacket 5 are preferably controlled in temperature in the same manner. EFFECT:Rising of the molten part can be prevented and sufficient melting capacity can be maintained.
