Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain an engraving master having high resolution faithful for an original by setting the applied energy of a thermal head and the rate of hole area of a thermoplastic resin film surface to be perforated to specific ranges. CONSTITUTION: A thermoplastic resin film and an ink permeable porous support are laminated together to form a thermal stencil printing base sheet perforated and engraved by a thermal head. In this case, the applied energy of the head is set to a range of 10 to 50μJ/dot, and the rate of hole area of the perforated thermoplastic resin film surface is set to a range of 10 to 60%. As the example of the film, polyester or polyamide are known, and from the point of perforating properties, the polyester film is suitable. The embodiments of the porous support, are nonwoven fabric or woven fabric made of natural fiber or synthetic fiber. The porous support made of the synthetic fiber can be manufactured by a method such as a known melt blowing method.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To realize an excellent contact with a thermal head and to improve the image clarity by sticking a polyester film to a polyester nonwoven fabric without intermediary of a bonding agent and setting the number of the protrusions each having a specific diameter or more on the surface of the polyester film to a specific number or less. CONSTITUTION: The thermal stencil printing base sheet to be printed by a thermal head is obtained by sticking a polyester film to a polyester film nonwoven fabric without intermediary of a bonding agent in such a manner that the number of the protrusions each having a diameter of 1μm or more is 2000 pieces/mm or less on the surface of the polyester film. The polyester film and the polyester used for the nonwoven fabric contain aliphatic dicarboxylic acid or alicyclic dicarboxylic acid and diol as main ingredients. The polyester used for the nonwoven fabric preferably includes polyethylene terephthalate, or polyethylene-2,6-naphthalate.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title stencil paper excellent in image sharpness and printability, in a laminate obtained by laminating a porous support composed of a synthetic fiber to the single surface of a thermoplastic polyester film, by specifying the moisture swelling coefficient and curl of the laminate. CONSTITUTION:A laminate is obtained by laminating a porous support composed of a synthetic fiber to the single surface of a thermoplastic polyester film. In this case, the moisture swelling coefficient of the laminate is specified to 1X10 %RH and the curl thereof is specified to 50mm or less. This stencil paper for thermal screen printing is excellent in image sharpness, receives no effect of humidity, improves the slide of a thermal head and is excellent in printability.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain recovering property from curling while maintaining transpar ency, mechanical characteristics and dimensional stability by specifying the size of curls. CONSTITUTION:The size of curls of the film is specified to 5-100m . It is preferable that the polyester film has a multilayer structure and consists of at least three layers to obtain recovering property for curling. These layers A, A', B are formed in such a manner that the layer A is 1.2-10 times as thick as the layer A'. The polyester used essentially consists of aromatic dibasic acid and glycols. As for the dibasic acid, terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid, 2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylic acid, diphenylsulfone dicarboxylic acid and the like are used. As for the glycols, ethyleneglycol, propyleneglycol, tetramethyleneglycol, propyleneglycol and the like are used.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a gas barrier film with high transparency and gas barrier properties by forming a layer contg. a polymer having specific repeating styrenesulfonic acid units and a polyalkylene oxide. CONSTITUTION:A gas barrier film has a layer contg. 5-95wt.% polymer having repeating styrenesulfonic acid units represented by the formula (wherein R is H or methyl; M is H, an alkali or alkaline earth metal, ammonium, or phosphonium; and R1 to R4 are each H or alkyl) and 5-95wt.% polyalkylene oxide, e.g. polyethylene oxide, having a mol.wt. of 400-1,000,000. The thickness of the layer, though not limited, is pref. 0.01-20mum in terms of gas barrier properties. The film is pref. transparent and has a light transmission of 60% or higher.
