    Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily obtain a tubular C/C composite of carbon fiber and a carbonizable substance without causing the deformation and the carbon fiber breakage by inserting specific place into both ends of the formed tubular material before baking. CONSTITUTION:The tubular formed article 1 used as a raw material for the objective composite material is composed of long or short carbon fibers such as roving or woven fabric and a carbonizable substance such as phenolic resin, epoxy resin, petroleum heavy oil and pitch. Plates 2 are inserted into the formed article 1 before baking. The plate 2 has an outer dimension equal to the inner dimension of the formed material in the firing stage. The plate 2 is brought into contact with the inner circumference of the formed article in firing to prevent the deformation of both ends of the formed article 1. It is preferable to fill a filler 3 in the formed article 1 to prevent the deformation of the middle part distant from the plates 2.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To facilitate removal of a pipe body and also to prevent cutting and damage of fiber by accommodating a reinforcing fiber aggregate in the pipe body having spiral groove at outer circumferential face, charging in a mold, pouring and pressurizing molten metal into the pipe body, impregnating into the aggregate and releasing from the mold after solidifying and stripping off the pipe body along the groove. CONSTITUTION:The material forming the aggregate 2 of reinforcing fiber around the core metal 8 is accommodated in the pipe body 4 having the groove 9 extending as spiral state to longitudinal direction at the outer circumferential face and charged into the metallic mold 1. Then, granule 3 is packed into be tween the metallic body 1 and the pipe body 4. Successively, the molten metal 5 as the matrix is poured into the pipe body 4 and pressurized with a plunger 6 to impregnate this into the aggregate 2, and after solidifying the molten metal 5, the metallic mold 1 and a base 7 are separated to discharge the granule 3, and after taking out the pipe body 4 from the metallic mold 1, the pipe body 4 is stripped off so as to remove along the groove 9 to obtain the FRM 10.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the electrical connection and to increase the mechanical strength by placing a connection member which consists of a heatproof conductive material with the rigidity lower than that of a C/C composite heating body between the terminal of the C/C composite heating body and an electrode. CONSTITUTION:Between the terminal 11a of a C/C composite heating body 11 and an electrode, a connection member which consists of a heatproof conductive material with the rigidity lower than that of said heating body 11 is placed. As the connection material, a sintered carbon; a high melting point metal such as Mo, W, Cr, Ti, Zr, and Ta; various sorts of heatproof alloys; a conductive ceramics such as a conductive nitride, a conductive metal silicate, and a conductive carbide; and moreover, a conductive cement or adhesive made by mixing the powder of those materials with a carbonic binder such as coal tar and coal tar pitch, a phenol resin, a furan resin, a KOPUNA [phonetic] resin; are used. When the terminal 11a and the electrode are connected, a washer is made from said material, for example, the washer is placed between the terminal and the electrode, and fastened with a screw nut and the like.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily remove a core by interposing a carbonizing material at the preheating temp. of a die between a core and an aggregate prior to inputting the core and the aggregate of a reinforcing fiber into the die. CONSTITUTION:A fiber reinforced aggregate 4 is arranged around a round bar-like core 1 and arranged inside a die 3. A carbonizable material 2 is interposed between the core 1 and aggregate 4. After preheating, if necessary, the core 1 and aggregate 4 in which the carbonizable material 2 is interposed, they are put into the preheated or unpreheated die 3. In case of using an unpreheated die, the preheating is executed after doing so. The carbonizable material 2 is then carbonized by the preheating. The molten metal 5 of the metal becoming a matrix is then poured into the die 3, impregnated in the aggregate 4 by pressing it with a plunger 6 and solidified. After the molten metal 5 being solidified, i.e., after FRM being obtd., the die 3 and a base 7 are separated, the FRM is taken out of the die 3 with the core 1 and a cylindrical FRM is obtd. by pulling out the core 1.
