    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prepare the title compsn. which is molded into a film or fiber excellent in slipperiness, resistance to shaving, and electro-magnetic conversion characteristics by incorporating soft spherical particles having a low strength and a uniform particle size distribution into the compsn. CONSTITUTION:The title compsn. contains spherical org. polymer particles which exhibit a strength (S10) satisfying the formula: 0 when deformed 10% and have a relative standard deviation expressed by the formula relating to the equivalent diameter of equal area circle of the particle of 0.5 or lower.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition excellent in slidability, surface evenness and abrasion resistance by a process for producing a polyester containing spherical inorganic particles, wherein a slurry comprising specified inorganic particles and a specified liquid is added to the polyester in a vented molding machine. CONSTITUTION:A process for producing a polyester (e.g. polyurethane terephthalate) containing spherical inorganic particles, wherein a slurry formed from spherical inorganic particles (e.g. titanium oxide) having a mean particle diameter of 0.01-5mum and a volume shape factor of 0.40-pi/6 and water and/or an organic compound of a b.p. of 200 deg.C or below (e.g. ethanol) is added to the polyester in a vented molding machine.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce a biaxially oriented film mainly comprising a thermoplastic resin and having an excellent resistance to scratch and dubbing by compounding the resin with specific crosslinked polymer particles and forming the resulting compsn. into a film. CONSTITUTION:A biaxially oriented film mainly comprising a thermoplastic resin (e.g. polyethylene terephthalate) is obtained by compounding the resin with 0.5-20wt.% crosslinked polymer particles having functional groups (e.g. particles of a sodium carboxylate group-contg. styrene-divinyl benzene copolymer) and a mean particle diameter of 0.2-5 times the thickness of the film, and forming the resulting compsn. into a film with a thickness of 0.01-3mum.

CONSTITUTION:Crosslinked PS particles of a heat decomposition temperature >=380 deg.C and a mean particle diameter of 0.01-5mum and inert inorganic particles (e.g., wet process silica) of a mean particle diameter of 0.01-5mum are added to a polyester comprising a difunctional acid component based on an aromatic dicarboxylic acid (e.g., dimethyl terephthalate) and at least one glycol component (e.g., ethylene glycol). A polyester composition suitable for, e.g., a film excellent in easy slidability and transparency can be obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce the title composition with the particles of high heat resistance and good dispersibility, excellent flatness, easy slippage, transparency, abrasion and operability by adding silica-coated fine particles of organic polymer to polyester. CONSTITUTION:A sodium silicate solution is added to an aqueous alkali solution in which fine particles of organic high polymer (polystyrene or crosslinked polystyrene particles are preferred) are dispersed and the sodium silicate is hydrolyzed with sulfuric acid under heating to give fine particles of an organic high polymer coated with silica, having particle sizes of 0.01-5mum, preferably 0.05-2mum. The fine particles are added to a polyester prepared from the difunctional acid component mainly consisting of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and the glycol component in an amount of 0.01-10wt.%, preferably 0.05-2wt.% in the form of a slurry before the start of polymerization.
