    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heat regenerative medium capable of storing heat in a high efficiency by dispersing a heat regenerative substance utilizing a latent heat of crystal transition in solid state into a dispersing medium to form a slurry. SOLUTION: This heat regenerative medium is obtained by dispersing (A) a heat regenerative substance utilizing a latent heat of crystal transition in a solid state [e.g. trans-1,4-polybutadiene (A1 ) having >=95mol% trans-1,4 bond, 10,000-1,000,000 weight average molecular weight, 50-80 deg.C transition temperature from a low temperature crystalline structure to a high temperature crystalline structure and >=70J/g enthalpy of the crystalline transition] into (B) a dispersing medium (e.g. water, a silicone oil, ethylene glycol or a liquid paraffin when the component A is the A1 ) to form a slurry. A heat transport system having a good heat transporting efficiency can be formed by using the heat regenerative medium.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a conjugated diene having a controlled microstructure in high activity by using a catalyst prepared by combining a specified compound of a group V transition metal in the periodic table with an ionic compound and/or an aluminoxane. SOLUTION: This catalyst comprises a group V transition metal compound represented by the general formula: MR(O)X2 (wherein M is a group V transition metal in the periodic table; R is cyclopentadienyl, a substituted cyclopentadienyl, indenyl, a substituted indenyl, fluorenyl or a substituted fluorenyl; X is hydrogen, a halogen, a 1-20C hydrocarbon group, an alkoxyl or amino) and an ionic compound of a non-coordinative anion with a cation and/or an aluminoxane. Monomers which can be polymerized by using this catalyst are exemplified by α-olefins, cycloolefins and conjugated olefins. Among them, conjugated diene compound monomers are particularly desirable.

SOLUTION: An olefin is copolymerized with a conjugated diene in the presence of a catalyst comprising a transition metal compound represented by the formula: (L-Y-Z)MXa [wherein M is a group IV transition metal; X is H, a halogen, a 1-12C hydrocarbon (oxy or amino) group; L is a (substituted) pentadienyl group which forms a π bond with M; Z is a hetero atom ligand such as O, S, N or P; Y is a group through which L and Z are bridged; and n is 1 or 2] and at least one promoter selected among organometallic compounds of main metals of group I to III in the periodic table, organoaluminumoxy compounds, ionic compounds which react with transition metal compounds to form cationic transition metal compounds, and Lewis acid compounds which react with transition metal compounds to form cationic transition metal compounds.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain in high activity a high-molecular weight rubbery propylene block copolymer with high rigidity, excellent in impact strength by two-step polymerization between propylene and another alpha-olefin using each specific catalyst. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, in the presence of a catalyst composed of (A) a solid catalytic component essentially comprising Mg, Ti, halogen and electron donor, (B) an organoaluminum compound (pref. trialkylaluminum) and (C) a silicate compound (pref. cyclohexylmethyldimethoxysilane), propylene (and a small amount of another alpha-olefin) is polymerized. Second, in the 2nd step, (D) a piperidine compound (pref. 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine) is added to the above reaction system without deactivating the above catalyst to conduct a polymerization between the propylene and the rest of the other alpha-olefin. The component A is pref. prepared by reaction of AlCl3 with e.g. tetraethoxysilane, a Grignard compound, o-phthalic diester and e.g. TiCl4, successively.
