PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out low- and high-density cell sensing and discrimination in a blood smear assay and the like. SOLUTION: A method of preparing a sample containing cells comprises steps of: placing a first material containing the cells on a slide; adding a first type of antibody; adding a second type of antibody; associating a first marker with one of the first type of antibody and the second type of antibody; and associating a second marker with one of the first type of antibody and the second type of antibody, wherein the prepared sample is configured to emit signals having a spectral resolution sufficient to permit filtering to differentiate and eliminate most false positives from true positive imaging event, and furthermore a confirmation is carried out by a higher resolution sensing method to determine whether they are truly the cells of interest. SOLUTION: This optical system for the multi-channel fluorometry for emitting light to a plurality of sample channels to detect fluorescence emitted from samples includes a light source 10; an integrator 20 for bringing the light emitted from the light source into light having a uniform intensity distribution; a sample holder 30 provided with the plurality of sample channels for mounting the samples fluorescence-reacting with the light emitted from the integrator; and a beam splitter 33 arranged between the integrator and the sample holder to separate incident light at a prescribed ratio. Abstract in simplified Chinese:一种多角度多信道检测设备,用以检测一个或多个样品。此多角度多信道检测设备包括:光收集器与多信道内核模块。光收集器具有多数个光纤探头,其中各光纤探头分别以垂直于样品方向排列及/或以倾斜于垂直样品方向的角度排列,用以对样品收集光信号。多信道内核模块与该光收集器耦接,对样品进行检测,并且利用光收集器,使入射到多信道内核模块的光束为平行于多信道内核模块的光轴,以得到各信道之光谱信息。
