Abstract: The invention comprises caprolactam in the form of round pellets. The pellets preferably have a mean diameter of 0.5-5 mm. and contain less than 0.3% by weight of moisture. The pellets may be prepared by dividing molten caprolactam into drops, e.g. by spraying and solidifying by direct cooling in a gaseous medium, e.g. air. In the examples, the drops fall down a tower against an upward current of air. Additives may include stabilizers such as anti-oxidants, and catalysts for the polymerization of the lactam.
