Abstract: PURPOSE: A car assembly line using a GPS and a method for controlling the same are provided to compare location information of a code rail and a GPS and to supply location information which has reliability about RGV, thereby preventing equipment failure or assemble line to be stopped. CONSTITUTION: An automobile assembly line using a GPS includes a code rail, a GPS(140), and a control panel(150). The code rail detects the location of RGV by a reader. The GPS detects the location coordinate value of the RGV. The control panel receives a location signal value of the RGV and a hanger. The control panel compares coordinate value of RGV received by the GPS and location value of the RGV detected by the code rail. The control panel controls the RGV according to whether deviation with the hanger exists or not.
