Abstract: PURPOSE:To keep the close contact of contents within a container to improve the cycle life and self discharge performance of a battery by closely accommodating contents containing a positive electrode material, a negative electrode material, and an electrolyte in a battery container, sealing a case and a cover, and repeatedly sealing a battery according to the volume change within the battery. CONSTITUTION:Contents containing a positive electrode 4, a negative electrode 6, and an electrolyte are closely accommodated in a battery container comprising a case 2 and a cover 3, and the case 2 and the cover 3 are sealed to form a battery. The battery is repeatedly sealed according to the volume variation of the contents in the container 1 to keep the close contact of contents within the container 1. A lithium alloy is used as a negative electrode 6, and the alloying of lithium is advanced within the battery. Since the volume in the contents is decreased with the advance of lithium alloying, the inner volume of the battery is decreased 1-40% by the second and the following sealing processes to shorten reaction time for alloying lithium and a metal to be alloyed with lithium. The charge-discharge cycle life of the battery is increased and the self discharge performance is also improved.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a battery having good performance such as low internal resistance and long cycle life by using polyaniline, to which electrochemical reduction treatment is applied in nonaqueous electrolyte, in a positive electrode as positive active material. CONSTITUTION:When polyaniline is produced in electrochemical process, usually aqueous solution is used. If this polyaniline is used as it is in a nonaqueous electrolyte battery as positive active material, the internal resistance of the battery is high and the performance such as cycle life is not good. By previously applying electrochemical reduction treatment to polyaniline in nonaqueous solution and controlling the reduction potential to 2.0-3.0 V (V.S Li /Li), the internal resistance of the battery using this polyaniline as the positive active material is reduced and the cycle life is increased.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To facilitate the checking of the charged state and the discharged state of a power source and to reduce the space for the power source, in the combination power source of a solar battery and a secondary battery, by using conductive macromolecular material, desirably polyaniline, for at least one electrode of the secondary battery. CONSTITUTION:In a power source, wherein a solar battery and a secondary battery are combined, conductive macromolecular material is used for the electrodes of the secondary battery. In this battery, doping and un-doping reactions are generally utilized for electrode reaction. Therefore, the battery voltage and the doping state, i.e., the battery voltage and the battery capacity, are in corresponding relationship. Even if irradiation conditions on the solar battery are changed into any state, the charged or discharged state of the secondary battery can be checked based on the voltage. Above all, the secondary battery, in which polyaniline is used for the electrodes, is desirable by the following reasons: polyaniline has a large capacity per active material, repetition property of charge and discharge is excellent; polyaniline has oxidation resisting property to some extent; and the battery is advantageous in handling work.

CONSTITUTION:As the negative pole, an interconnecting porous lithium-aluminum alloyed porous body of more than 50% in porosity or a lithium-aluminum-indium alloyed porous body or an interconnecting porous aluminum porous body whose surface is alloyed with lithium at the least, or an aluminum-indium alloyed porous body is used. With this constitution, internal resistance is low, a degree of coulomb efficiency is increased, and thus such a secondary battery that never forms dendrite is securable. In this connection, if porosity is lower than 50% no change has resulted from the conventional coulomb efficiency so that this aim is unattainable.
