Abstract: PURPOSE: To eliminate such a problem that a transmission image is not faithfully reproduced when contraction is performed on a recording side by prohibiting contraction processing at the time of the recording of an image when an image data preserving mode is set. CONSTITUTION: A facsimile apparatus is constituted of a facsimile part 1 and a printer part 2. The printer part 2 changes over a facsimile mode operated as the recording system of the facsimile part 1 and a printer mode operated as the printer of a data processing terminal 109 according to the indication of a facsimile MPU 101. The image data inputted from an external data processor 109 through an interface is stored in an image memory 103 to be recorded on recording paper. The image data in the image memory 103 is indicated from the external data processor 109 and the indicated image data is preserved even after recording. Further, when the indicated image data is recorded, contraction recording is prohibited.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make the processor small in cost and to efficiently record a read original image by using a common drive source in an original carrier system and a recording paper feed system. CONSTITUTION:A facsimile section 1 generates a recording paper feed command according to user registration. The command is a set of commands such as printer reset, print mode, printer setting, 2-way print correction, page mode, footer print, 2-way print and raster skip. The commands are transferred simultaneously to a printer section 2 via a centronics I/F 302. Then the facsimile section 1 awaits a paper feed request from the printer section 2. The printer section 2 receiving the commands analyzes the commands and gives a paper feed request to the facsimile section 1. The facsimile section 1 receives the request to use a motor 11 and to feed recording paper the same as the case with picking up of the original and paper feed is finished when the recording paper is carried up to a tail end sensor 206. The succeeding positioning of the recording paper takes over the printer section 2. The printer section 2 sets the position of the recording paper according to a prescribed positioning amount.
