Abstract: PURPOSE:To permit formation of fine patterns with a simple process for production by forming a resist layer which has the sensitivity higher than the sensitivity of a colored resin and does not dissolve in a developing soln. for the colored resin on a colored resin layer which is formed to a pattern shape. CONSTITUTION:The colored resin film 2 is coated to a required film thickness on a substrate 1 by using a polyamide resin soln. contg. a prescribed ratio of a coloring material having desired spectral characteristics and is baked. The similar polyamide resin soln. is then coated on the film 2 and is baked to form a transparent resist film 7. The film 7 is exposed through a photomask 3 having a prescribed pattern shape at a required exposure by light (high- pressure mercury lamp, etc.) having the sensitivity of the resist film to photoset 7a the pattern part. The film 7 is then ultrasonically developed by a solvent which dissolves only the unexposed part and colored resin to form the pattern leaving only the resist pattern film and the resin film 2 thereunder. The photosetting of the patterned part of the colored resin is then executed by full surface exposing and the resin layer is baked by which the patterned colored resin layer 4 having the resist layer 7b thereon is obtd.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a high-quality product at low cost and high yield by sandwiching a liquid crystal element between a pair of substrates and disposing a pattern-shaped conductive color filter to the inside of either one of said substrates. CONSTITUTION:A conductive blue colored resin material with which a desired spectral characteristic is obtainable is printed by an offset printing method on the glass substrate to a stripe pattern at 1.0mum film thickness and is baked for 30min at 150 deg.C to form the conductive blue colored pattern of the 1st color. A conductive green colored pattern is then formed by using a conductive green colored resin material as the 2nd color on the glass material 41 on which the blue colored pattern is formed. A conductive red colored pattern is further formed to the prescribed position of the substrate 41 by using a conductive red colored resin material as the 3rd color. The substrate formed in such a manner and the substrate having thin film transistors are opposed to face each other and stuck to each other; thereafter a TN type liquid crystal is injected into the spacing therebetween and the port is sealed, by which the product having good functions is obtd.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the destruction of protective film to improve the reliability by specifying the hardness of the protective film on a color filter. CONSTITUTION:On a ferroelectric liquid crystal element 1, a ferroelectric liquid crystal 4 an ball-shaped bead specers 9 are held between a pair of parallel substrates 2 and 3 provided with transparent electrodes 5 and 6, and a color filter 11 and a protective film 10 and provided between at least one electrode 5 and one substrate 2. This film 10 on the filter 11 consists of a transparent resin or a transparent inorganic compound and is formed with >=HB pencil harness (JIS K 5401). Oriented films 7 and 8 are provided between electrodes 5 and 6 and the liquid crystal 4. Since the destruction of the film due to spacers 9 is prevented in this constitution, the element 1 of high reliability is obtained.

CONSTITUTION:With respect to a color filter used in a color liquid crystal display device, area rates of respective color elements B, G, and R in a picture element 1 are made different from one another in consideration of spectral characteristics and luminous efficiencies of the color filter and a light source. With respect to the color filter used in a color photosensor, area rates of color elements 14B, 14G, and 14R brought into contact with individual electrodes 16B, 16G, and 16R are made different from one another in consideration of the spectral sensitivity characteristic of a photoconductive layer. By this constitution, the brightness of the color filter used in the display element or device is uniformized to improve the color balance.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To form a color filter which has an excellent spectral characteristic and has excellent solvent resistance and adhesiveness by having a colored layer successively laminated with a dye layer and solvent resistant layer from a substrate side. CONSTITUTION:This filter has the colored layer successively laminated with the dye layer and solvent resistant layer from the substrate side. More specifically, the solvent resistant layer 5b is laminated on the dye layer 4b to protect the dye layer 4b against a solvent in the stage of forming the colored layer 15 consisting of the layers 4b and 5b. A material for the substrate 1 is not particularly limited as far as the material permits the formation of the colored layer and the formed color filter has a desired function; for example, a glass plate, etc. are usable. The material for the dye layer 4b is exemplified by phthalocyanine pigment, etc. and the material for the solvent resistant layer 5b is exemplified by a polyparaxylene, etc.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the titled filter which has excellent resistance to heat and light and obviates image deterioration by diagonal incident light by forming the filter in such a manner that respective dye layers consist of dye raw materials, or dye raw materials and transparent materials, that light shielding layers are closely disposed between the respective dye layers and that the respective dye layers and light shielding layers have approximately equal film thicknesses. CONSTITUTION:The respective dye layers consist of the dye raw materials or the dye raw materials and transparent materials and the light shielding layers are closely disposed between the respective adjacent dye layers; in addition, the respective dye layers and light shielding layers have approximately equal film thicknesses to constitute the filter. More specifically, the thickness of the layers is made largest with the 1st dye raw material and the film thickness of the light shielding layers 5 is made approximately equal to the film thickness of the 1st dye layer 8a formed afterward in the case of forming the dye layers 8a-8c suitable for obtaining a desired spectral characteristic only each of 3 kinds of the 1st-3rd dye raw materials. Any materials which have light non-transparency and permit removal of desired parts by a method for etching, etc. after lamination, i.e., materials which can be patterned are usable for the light shielding layers 5.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To simplify a manufacturing process by shifting the same photomask for each color by desired distance and forming a resist mask, and thus overlapping adjacent pigment layers of two colors and forming a light shielding layer at the overlap part. CONSTITUTION:Resist masks 21 are formed on the opposite substrate 6 of glass where picture element electrodes are formed and a pigment layer 22 is formed on the entire surface of the substrate; and then unnecessary parts are removed while the masks 21 are dissolved to form a blue pigment layer pattern 18. The pattern 18 is the same as the pattern of a metal part 17. Then, the same photomask is shifted from the pattern 18 by one picture element to form a resist mask and a pigment layer is provided; and then unnecessary parts are removed to form a green pigment pattern 19. The overlap part between the patterns 18 and 19 is a light shielding layer 15. Further, a red pigment layer 20 and a light shielding layer 15 are formed in the same process. Thus, a color filter consisting of three colors, i.e., red, green, and blue is formed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a color photosensor having excellent accuracy and productivity by positioning a color filter between a substrate and photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:A positive type resist is coated by a spinner coating method on the glass substrate 1 and is prebaked then the resist is exposed through a mask by far-UV light and after the substrate is immersed in a developing soln., the substrate is immersed in a rinsing soln. to form a resist mask 2. Such glass substrate 1 is exposed over the entire surface. The substrate 1 and Cu phthalocyanine packed in an Mo boat for vapor deposition are installed in a vacuum deposition machine, the inside of which is then evacuated. The machine is heated to deposit Cu phthalocyanine by evaporation by which a vapor deposited Cu phthalocyanine layer 3 is formed. The substrate 1 is immersed in the developing soln. to be exclusively used under stirring to form a blue dye layer 4. A green dye layer 5 and a red dye layer 6 are similarly formed.
