    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent recording liquid in a tank part from leaking outside through an atmospheric communication hole by a method wherein a ventilation means which equalizes atmospheric pressure to pressure inside the tank is provided at the tank part, and a shielding plate is provided apart from an opening part near the opening part on the tank part side of the ventilation means. CONSTITUTION:A tank part 3 of a recording head cartridge 1 reserves recording liquid to be supplied to a recording head part 2. An atmospheric interconnecting hole 4 equalizes inner pressure of the tank part to atmospheric pressure. A cap member 5 forms the atmospheric interconnecting hole 4 and a shielding plate 6. The shielding plate 6 has a larger area than an opening 42 of an ink tank inner end part of the atmospheric interconnecting hole 4, which exists between the opening 42 and a porous material 8 and located at a position apart from either of them. Therefore, even if ink is released from the porous material and reaches the opening 42 of the atmospheric interconnecting hole 4 to be used, the shielding plate 6 exists. Then, the ink never reaches directly the atmospheric interconnecting hole 4. Further, since the opening 4 of the atmospheric interconnecting hole 4 is located around the cap member 5, an extremely stabilized effect can be obtained compared with a structure wherein an atmospheric interconnecting pipe is simply arranged.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To protect a discharge surface by a method wherein a knock against component prepared by extending a rib projected forward from the discharge surface of a recording head in a transfer direction of a carrier is provided when the recording head is mounted. CONSTITUTION:For a knock against component 607, in order to possess a space of an ink tank as large as possible within a limited arranged space of a recording head and a carrier, it wall thickness is formed into thin one. Therefore, three ribs 608 for securing strength are formed for the component 607. A direction wherein this rib 608 extends is a transfer direction of the carrier 6 in order to have strength corresponding to spiral motion when a recording head is mounted or removed. Further, the rib 608 is so formed as to protrude forward approximate 0.1mm from its discharge surface when the recording head 9 is mounted. Thereby, even in the case where recording paper protrudes to a transfer passage of the recording head by any action, the recording paper can be prevented from rubbing the discharge surface to give damage or the like.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To keep the levelness of an ink path to increase the adhesion between the surface of an ink path wall and a first substrate and improve a performance in delivering an ink drip by providing a projected member a part of a bonding surface at which a wall part of a second substrate for forming a common ink chamber is bonded to a first substrate. CONSTITUTION:On a grooved top plate 2, a recessed part 4b and wall parts 4a, 5a for forming ink paths 4 and a common ink chamber 5 are provided and an orifice plate 7 provided with delivery ports 6 connecting to the ink paths 4 is integrally mounted. A projected member 3 is preferably provided on the center area of the rear end wall part 5a of the common ink chamber 5. On the other hand, the wall part 4a of the ink path 4 in the grooved top plate 2 is formed to be a thickness (b) thicker than the wall part 5a of the common ink chamber 5 to form a step part. The step part serves as a gap into which an adhesive penetrates when a substrate 1 is bonded with the grooved top plate 2. The projected member 3 on the rear end wall part 5a of the common ink chamber 5 has a thickness (a), which is approximately equal to that of the step part (b). Thus, the adhesive is allowed to uniformly penetrate to the bonding face of the substrate 1 with the grooved top plate 2 without irregularities.
