    Abstract: PURPOSE:To permit uniform dispersion of an electrostatic charge control agent and to improve image quality by dispersing the charge control agent in the presence of polyethylene imine. CONSTITUTION:This toner contains a binder polymer (e.g.: styrene/n-butyl methacrylate copolymer), the charge control agent (A), coloring agent and the polyethylene imine (B). The control agent A is preferably an azo metallic complex dye (e.g.: the dye expressed by the formula) and the polymer B is a straight chain or branched polymer of 200-20,000 weight average mol.wt. This toner is obtd. by dispersing the control agent A, coloring agent, etc., in the presence of the polymer B into a polymerizable monomer for the binder, then subjecting the dispersion to a suspension polymn. The dispersibility of the control agent A is then improved and, therefore, the toner which decreases fogging and has excellent developability and printing resistance is obtd.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve output and durability in particular by coating a compd. incorporated with a perfluoroalkyl group and plural pieces of double bonds in one molecule on a magnetic coated film which is preliminarily partially cured and curing said film, thereby bonding the lubricating agent layer onto the magnetic coated film. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic coating compd. consisting of a mixture composed of a resin compsn. having the double bonds of the nature that the compd. is cured by electron rays, solvent and magnetic powder is coated on a base and after the solvent is removed, the coating is subjected to a surface smoothing treatment to form the magnetic coated film. The magnetic coated film is then precured by projecting the electron rays thereon and thereafter, the compd. contg. at least the perfluoroalkyl group and at least two electron rays curing double bonds in one molecule is coated thereon at the time of projecting the electron rays to said film and curing the film. The migration of the lubricating agent in the magnetic layer is thereby prevented and various defects associated with the addition or coating of the lubricating agent are overcome.

The co-deposition of metal and the above-mentioned high polymer arises in molecular order on the surface of a metallic material if said material is electroplated in said plating bath. A molecular composite film is thus formed thereon.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled toner having an excellent image quality by dispersing a carbon black in a polymerizable monomer in the presence of a specific benzylamine compd. followed by polymerizing it, thereby obtaining a sufficient dispersed state of the carbon black. CONSTITUTION:The titled toner is prepared by dispersing the carbon black in the monomer having a polymerizable unsatd. group in the presence of the benzylamine compd. shown by the formula followed by polymerizing it. In the formula, R and R are each 6-100 C a straight or a branched chain alkyl group or alkenyl group, R and R may be the same or the different each other, (n) is 0-10. Thus, the toner having an excellent dispersibility of a colorant, and having an improved photographic density of the toner and less tendency for generating a fog in copying, and also having excellent properties of developing, transferring, fixing and storing is obtd.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the dispersibility of magnetic powder, surface smoothness and durability by consisting a binder of a polyurethane resin produced by using a specific lactone-modified diol. CONSTITUTION:The binder for magnetic recording consisting of the polyurethane resin produced by using the lactone-modified diol expressed by the formula is used. A magnetic layer constituted by dispersing ferromagnetic powder into such binder is provided on a nonmagnetic base. The lactone-modified diol to be used as the binder has preferably the number average mol.wt. ranging 400-60,000 in terms of the flexibility of the resulted polyurethane resin and the toughness of the resin. The ratio of the binder and the pulverous ferromagnetic powder is preferably in a 10-100pts.wt. binder range with 100pts. pulverous ferromagnetic powder. The pulverous ferromagnetic powder is exemplified by gamma-Fe2O3, mixed crystals or gamma-Fe2O3 and Fe3O4, Co-modified iron oxide, CrO.2, iron, etc. The dispersibility and durability are thereby extremely improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve magnetic powder dispersibility, durability and surface smoothness by using a specific polyurethane resin as a binder. CONSTITUTION:The polyurethane resin having at least >=1 respectively among an SO2M (M is H, Li, Na or K) and primary or secondary OH group both in combination in the molecular chain is used. A magnetic recording medium is produced by coating a magnetic paint for which the polyurethane resin is used as the binder and to which pulverous ferromagnetic powder and additive, etc. are added together with an org. solvent, on a non-magnetic substrate and drying the coating. The ratio of the binder and the pulverous ferromagnetic powder is 10-100pts.wt., more preferably 20-50pts.wt. by 100pts.wt. pulverous ferromagnetic powder. The mechanical strength and wear resistance are not enough if the ratio of the binder is below 10pts.wt. The magnetic powder density in the magnetic layer decreases and the satisfactory performance (reproduced output, etc.) as the magnetic recording medium is not obtainable if the ratio of the binder is increased to 100pts.wt. or above.
