Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled yarn having excellent adhesivity to matrix resin without damaging high modulus and high strength, by oxidizing poly-para- phenylene benzothiazole yarn in a gas phase and modifying the main structure unit thereof. CONSTITUTION:Poly-para-phenylene benzothiazole (hereinafter abbreviate PBT) yarn consisting of a unit shown by formula I is oxidized in a gas phase or in liquid phase and >=5mol% unit shown by formula I is modified into a unit shown by formula II (X and Y are 0-2 integer with the proviso that a case where both X and Y are O is omitted) to give the aimed yarn. PBT of raw material, for example, is obtained by subjecting 2,5-dithiol-1,4 phenylenediaminediammonium chloride and terephthalic acid to polycondensation in a polyphosphoric acid solvent at high temperature. In oxidizing PBT in a liquid phase, an oxidizing agent of organic peroxide type such as peracetic acid, etc., is preferably used.

Abstract: PURPOSE:A dense sheetlike material, obtained by compounding and integrating a specific fibrous structure with a synthetic resin in the surface layer at a specified distance from the outermost surface of a leathery sheetlike material, having air-permeability and moisture permeability and improved surface strength and rich in feeling of fullness. CONSTITUTION:A web consisting of ultrafine fiber-forming fibers is needle punched to give a three-dimensionally entangled fibrous sheet, and high-speed fluid stream is then jetted thereon to entangle densely the fibers, dissolve partially components thereof and form ultrafine fibers therefrom. The resultant sheet is then pressed to smooth the surface thereof,and, as necessary dyed to apply a casein based resin in an amount of >=1g/m expressed in terms of solid on the surface layer thereto and density the above-mentioned surface layer. Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain the film for thermal stencil paper, which is excellent in stretching stability and has favorable planeness with small thickness fluctuation by a method wherein a specified component is copolymerized with a polyester so as to make the percentage of the widthwise thickness fluctuation not more than a specified value. CONSTITUTION: This film for thermal stencil paper is made of a copolymerized polyester containing 0.5-50mol.% aliphatic dicarboxylic acid as a dicarboxylic acid component. By copolymerizing the aliphatic dicarboxylic acid with a polymer, the stretching stability of the resultant copolymerizate is improved and, at the same time, its planeness becomes favorable, resulting in settling uneven printing. Further, the favorable widthwise thickness fluctuation of the polyester film is not more than 20%. If the fluctuation exceeds 20%, the laminating properties between porous support and the film is lowered and the perforating properties of the film is deteriorated, resulting in developing uneven printing.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a polymer coated metal laminate of superior compatibility of molding properties, particularly resistance to impact and taste characteristics by coating a layer, in which polyester A composed of ethylene terephthalate or ethylene isophthalate of specified melting point as main component and thermoplastic elastomer are blended together by a specified weight ratio, with extruded laminate. CONSTITUTION: A polymer coated metal laminate is formed by coating a layer I constituted of polyester A composed of ethylene terephthalate of ethylene isophthalate having melting point of 140-245 deg.C as main component and thermoplastic elastomer blended together by the ratio of 70:30-98:2 by the weight ratio. Resistance to impact is good even when a number of heat histories such as heat treatment in the can manufacturing process, retort treatment after the can manufacturing process and the like are applied after extrusion laminating to the metal and mold, and molding and can manufacturing are carried out by mixing thermoplastic elastomer of adequate amount i0 polyester having specified melting point. Not only the compatibility of resistance to impact with taste characteristics but also resistance to impact can be improved to a large extent by the above-said effect.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a polymer-coated metal laminate adapted for a metal can in which impact resistance and taste characteristics are excellently compatible by coating a polyester layer having a specific melting point obtained by mixing ethylene glycol, butanediol residue, telephthalic acid residue and isophthalic acid residue at specific molar ratio by extrusion laminating. CONSTITUTION:A layer formed of polyester having a melting point of 120-265 deg.C obtained by mixing ethylene glycol residue and butanediol residue at a molar ratio of 20:80-95:5 and terephthalic acid residue and isophthalic acid residue at a molar ratio of 50:50-100:0 is covered by extrusion laminating. That is, in order to extrusion laminate the polyester having a specific melting point in which the ethylene glycol and butanediol are introduced on metal, in the case of molding to manufacture a can, excellent impact resistance is obtained even via many heat history such as heat treatment in the can forming step and retorting after the can forming.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a substantially non-oriented polyester film having the specific tensile modulus of elasticity, specific film haze and the specific coefficient of static friction, not losing flexibility and slip properties and excellent in handling properties. CONSTITUTION:A polyester film is a substantially non-oriented film with the tensile modulus of elasticity of 1-150kg/mm , film haze of 5% or less and the coefficient of static friction of 0.2-2.0. Herein, the number of primary or more projections on at least the single surface thereof is pref. 3-1000/mm when measured by a multiple interference method. By providing these projections, the handling properties of the film is improved to a large extent. Particles composed of talc, kaolin or calcium carbonate are pref. added to the surface layer of at least the single surface of the film. Polyester to be used is pref. constituted so that at least 60% or more of the repeating unit thereof is an ethylene terephthalate unit or a butylene terephthalate unit.

The heat insulating/cooling zones 6, 7, 8 are provided so as to have a temp. gradient stepwise lowering the set temps. of the respective zones from the set temp. of a heating zone to predetermined temp. and capable of crystallizing the composite sheet 3 to the predetermined degree of crystallization corresponding to the purpose.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a film for thermal stencil printing paper which is excellent in perforation sensitivity, good in resolution and gradation in printing, and free from happening a problem of curl by a method wherein in a biaxially oriented film composed of thermoplastic resin a heat contraction of a specific temperature is at most a specific value even in either direction of a cross direction or a length direction of the film. CONSTITUTION:Heat contraction coefficients at 50 deg.C in either direction of a cross direction or a length direction of a biaxial oriented film consisting of thermoplastic resin are made at most 1.0%. Further, the heat contraction coefficient at 50 deg.C is preferably made at most 0.8%. Furhtermore, the heat contraction coefficients at 100 deg.C in at least one direction of the cross or length direction of the biaxially oriented film are made 10-80%. An average value of heat contraction stress in the cross direction and the length direction at 100 deg.C of the biaxially oriented film is made at least 300g/mm . Further, a melting point of the thermoplastic resin is preferably 140-250 deg.C. The film for thermal stencil printing paper is excellent in thermal perforation property, resolution, gradation, and curl resistance in printing and suitable for highly sensitivity service.
