    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition for the preparation of translucent film having a high haze value independent of the molding conditions and an easily controllable melt index, by combining a specific propylene-ethylene block copolymer with an organic peroxide. CONSTITUTION:A composition composed of (A) 100pts.wt. of a crystalline propylene-ethylene block copolymer having 50-100wt% ethylene content and (B) 0.001-1, pref. 0.01-2pts.wt. of an organic peroxide having a decomposition temperature of about >=60 deg.C corresponding to the half-life of 10 hours, e.g. lauroyl peroxide. Addition of 2-30pts.wt.of polyethylene e.g. high density polyethylene or a copolymer of ethylene and an alpha-olefin and/or a radically copolymerizable polar unsaturated compound to 100pts.wt. of the compound (A) further improves the haze and the film-forming characteristics.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a film having a markedly increased haze value as a measure of translucency by forming the film from a composition comprising a specified crystalline propylene/ethylene block copolymer and a specified organic peroxide. CONSTITUTION:An unoriented, unidirectionally oriented or biaxially oriented film containing at least one unoriented, unidirectionally oriented or biaxially oriented film produced from a composition comprising 100 pts.wt. crystalline propylene/ethylene block copolymer comprising 0.5-60wt.% block polymer part having an ethylene content of 50-100wt.% and 99.5-40wt.% propylene homopolymer part having a propylene content of 80wt.% or above or propylene/ another alpha-olefin copolymer part and 0.001-1 pt.wt. organic peroxide having a 10-hr half-life temperature of 60 deg.C or above.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the slitting property of the title film, by a method wherein the surface orientation coefficient, the number of micro-void, the crystalline size, the degree of axial orientation and the containing amount of diethylene grycol of the biaxially orientated polyethylene terephthalate film are specified. CONSTITUTION:The film of the present invention is a biaxially orientated polyethylene terephthalate film, containing 0.2-2.0wt% of diethylene grycol and provided with the surface orientation coefficient of film of 0.03-0.11, the number of micro-void of 100-5,000pcs/mm and the crystalline size of 45-65Angstrom . Whisker or powder is hardly produced when the film is slit under a condition that a magnetic layer is laid thereon, therefore, the film is optimum for the use of a video tape or the like and useful for graphic stamping foil or the like. Said film may be manufactured by any method.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:A film, obtained by blending a specific polyfluoride with a specific polyester, having a given waviness index and small surface energy at a contact point and improved slipperiness without impairing smoothness and suitable for video tapes, etc. CONSTITUTION:A biaxially oriented polyester film, consisting essentially of a composition consisting of (A) 0.03-3.0wt% polyfuoride, having 0.03-2.5mum average particle diameter and >=320 deg.C temperature at the time of 5% weight loss on heating and expressed by formula I (x is 1-2; y is 1-2) and (B) a polyester having structural units expressed by formula II (R is dicarboxylic acid residue selected from formulas III-VI) as main repeating units and having a waviness index within the range of 0.50-0.90. A polyfluoride having >=80 deg. contact angle to water is preferred for the component (A).

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a disc with little tracking miss and drop out by a structure wherein the title film consists of polyethylene terephthalate film, the content of COOK terminal group of which is the specified value or less and the refractive index in the direction of the thickness, the index of resistance to surface damage and the coefficient of humidity expansion in arbitrary direction within the plane of which are specified. CONSTITUTION:The content of COOH terminal group of polyethylene terephthalate in filmy state must be 30 equivalent per ton or less. The tracking miss of a magnetic disc made of a base material, the content of COOH terminal group of which must exceed 30 equivalent per ton, increases. The refractive index in the thickness of the film must be 1.492 or less. If said index is larger than 1.492, the number of drop outs tends to increase and also tracking misses increases. Next, the index of resistance to surface damage of the film must be 2% or less. The coefficient of humidity expansion of the film must mentioned above is larger than said range, tracking miss tends to occur during the reproduction of record in a magnetic disc having high recording density and consequently the correct reproduction of signals becomes difficult.
