    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a polyester film having good electromagnetic conversion characteristics and excellent surface characteristics and suitable for a magnetic recording medium by using the recycle raw material of a polyester bottle in one layer. CONSTITUTION:The recycle raw material of a polyester bottle used in a base layer part is the recycle product of a container based on polyester called a pet bottle. Utilizable polyester is polyester produced and molded by a usual polymerization method. Non-polyester foreign matter such as a metal component is removed from a used recycled pet bottle and this treated bottle is washed and ground to be subjected to a raw material. The ground recycled raw material and a particle free polymer are mixed to obtain a base layer part raw material which is, in turn, used to obtain a laminated biaxially oriented polyethylene terephthalate film. In the evaluation of the scratch resistance and electromagnetic conversion characteristics of this film, when the recycled raw material is used, film quality standing comparison with a reference value using no recycled raw material is obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a film, prominent in both of anti-scratch property and anti-scraping property, by a method wherein polymer layers, having the thickness of a ratio within a specified range with respect to the average grain size of inert inorganic particles contained in polyester, are laminated and the ratio of particles of the inorganic particles in respective layers is limited within a specified range while the volume of effective spaces, produced by projections on the surface of a film, is also limited within a specified range. CONSTITUTION:A polymer layer, having the thickness of 0.01C-0.5C (unit is mum) and containing no inert inorganic particles substantially, is provided on at least one side of a film having the principal constituent of a composite consisting of polyester and inert inorganic particles having an average grain size C (mum). In this case, said polymer layer contains inert inorganic particles having the average grain size of 0.01C-0.35C and the volume of effective spaces, produced by projections on the surface of a laminating surface, is limited within the range of 1X10 -5X10 . According to this method, the shock absorbing capacity and viscoelastic characteristic of the projections, existing on the surface, may be improved. Accordingly, the film, prominent in both of anti-scratch property and anti-scraping property, may be obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide super slitting properties and good dimension stability by making crystalline orientation coefficient, while orientation coefficient, the number of micro-voids, crystalline size, heat shrinkage rate and distortion elasticity modulus most suitable respectively. CONSTITUTION:Polyethylene terephthalate is fed to an extruder and biaxially oriented to prepare a film being within the range of crystalline coefficient of 0.03-0.11, whole orientation coefficient of 0.155-0.175, the number of micro- voids of 500-5,000pcs./mm and 45-65A of crystalline size, and also within the range of heat shrinkage rate of 0.01-0.13% in the film longitudinal direction and distortion elasticity rate of 3X10 -5X10 N/m . Said film, when slitting, particularly slitting in a state of being a magnetic layer on the film, scarcely generates whiskers or powders, and also when the magnet layer is applied to the film to process a tape, the film is not likely to stretch to form any transforming distortion and offers superior dimension stability.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the slitting property of the title film, by a method wherein the surface orientation coefficient, the number of micro-void, the crystalline size, the degree of axial orientation and the containing amount of diethylene grycol of the biaxially orientated polyethylene terephthalate film are specified. CONSTITUTION:The film of the present invention is a biaxially orientated polyethylene terephthalate film, containing 0.2-2.0wt% of diethylene grycol and provided with the surface orientation coefficient of film of 0.03-0.11, the number of micro-void of 100-5,000pcs/mm and the crystalline size of 45-65Angstrom . Whisker or powder is hardly produced when the film is slit under a condition that a magnetic layer is laid thereon, therefore, the film is optimum for the use of a video tape or the like and useful for graphic stamping foil or the like. Said film may be manufactured by any method.
