Abstract: An apparatus for developing a latent image recorded on a photoconductive member in an electrophotographic printing machine having a reservoir (64) for storing a supply of developer material and a magnetic brush roll (70) for transporting material from the reservoir to each of two donor rolls (76, 78). The developer material (66) comprises carrier granules and toner particles. The donor rolls (76, 78) receive toner particles from the magnetic brush roll (70) and deliver the toner particles to the photoconductive member (10) at spaced locations in the direction of movement of the photoconductive member to develop the latent image recorded thereon. Electrode members (86, 88) are positioned between each of the donor rolls and the photoconductive surface.

Ein Bildsensor generiert Bilddaten des gedruckten Testmusters, um eine defekte Düse im ersten Druckkopf zu erkennen.

Abstract: A method comprising: providing a facility with at least one controlled access electronic printing machine; printing original documents with said controlled access electronic printing machine, wherein printed images formed thereby arise from marking materials containing at least one photoactive additive; equipping all uncontrolled access reprographic devices within said facility with a secure illumination source capable of exposing an object document with sufficient intensity to activate said photoactive additive; and illuminating said object document with said secure illumination source of said uncontrolled access reprographic device, wherein said object documents having original document images printed thereon cannot be copied or scanned in a normal copy or scan illumination interval.

Abstract: A color REaD IOI system in which the photoreceptor (10) is DC only recharged between the development of the first toner layer and the subsequent exposure and development of the following toner layer. Abstract: Disclosed is a color printer including an image bearing member (10) having an imageable surface (11) for movement along a preselected path, at least a first imaging assembly (26,30) for forming sets of multiple black toner registration marks on different areas of the imageable surface, and for forming second sets of multiple non-black toner registration marks corresponding respectively to black marks in each set of the first sets of black marks so as to create a series of sets of multicolor registration marks. Each of the second sets is formed thus in accordance with a predetermined different condition of image misregistration relative to the corresponding first set of black toner marks. The color printer also includes a light source (142) for producing a wide area beam (172) to illuminate each set of the series of sets of multicolor marks, and a wide area beam (WAB) sensor (146) for measuring scattered or diffuse light (174) reflected from each set of the illuminated series of sets of multicolor marks, and for producing an actual light reflectance measurement value (Ca) from each such illuminated set. The printer further includes a comparing device for determining a degree of actual image misregistration by comparing each of the actual light reflectance measurement values with a stored predetermined registration offset value (Cp) corresponding to a predetermined condition of image misregistration for each illuminated set of multicolor marks. Mechanisms (137,138,139) are included in the printer for adjusting an imaging parameter of an imaging assembly responsively to the determined condition of actual misregistration so as to correct for the determined actual misregistration.
