    Abstract: The present invention relates to an adhesive formulation comprising lignin, suitable for use in the manufacture of for example wood products.The lignin is provided in the form of a solution or dispersion or in dry solid form, such as in the form of a powder. The adhesive formulation also comprises phenol- formaldehyde (PF) resin and/or lignin-phenol-formaldehyde (LPF) resin. The adhesive formulation may also comprise extenders, hardeners, fillers and other additives, to achieve an adhesive formulation useful in the manufacture of for example wood products, such as plywood and laminated veneer lumber (LVL).The adhesive formulation can also be used in the manufacture of laminates and oriented strand boards.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for production of product comprising a first ply, the method comprising the steps of: providing a fibrous suspension comprising fibers; providing said fibrous suspension to a porous medium to form a substrate comprising fibers; providing a first additive suspension comprising a first strengthening agent, wherein the first strengthening agent is microfibrillated cellulose; providing a second additive suspension comprising at least one retention agent and/or at least one drainage agent; dewatering said substrate on said porous medium; performing additive addition to said substrate during said dewatering of said substrate on said porous medium, wherein the additive addition is performed when the substrate has a dry content of less than 20 weight-%, preferably less than 10 weight-%, most preferably less than 7 weight-%, and wherein the additive addition comprises adding at least a layer of said first additive suspension and a layer of said second additive suspension to said substrate by means of multilayer curtain coating, and further dewatering and drying said substrate after said dewatering on said porous medium so as to provide said first ply. The invention also relates to a paper, board or non-woven product obtainable by the method.

    Abstract: The invention discloses a method to form a composition, which method includes fibrillating fibers to form MFC in the presence of an alkali-metal silicate whereby an MFC and silicate mixture is formed The presence of alkali-metal silicate during fibrillation of fibers to MFC, reduces the viscosity and increases the water release behavior, whereby the fibrillation can be accomplished at higher concentrations and a more uniform mixture of MFC - silicate is accomplished. The composition formed by the method of the invention may e.g. be used in paper or paperboard production, in cement production or as an additive in composites.
