The manipulating and massaging apparatus of a therapeutic manipulating machine for the human body extends into a longitudinal opening in the table whereon a patient lies. In operation, this manipulating and massaging apparatus moves back and forth in this opening to contact the patient''s body at predetermined pressures. This reciprocable movement may be substantially the length of the opening to permit the manipulating and massaging to extend from a patient''s hips to his shoulders. A lesser reciprocable movement, which is a selected increment within this overall range of movement, is effected by adjustable stops for the manipulating and massaging apparatus which act against limit switches carried by the reciprocating manipulating and massaging apparatus. When the limit switch on the apparatus contacts a stop, the drive of the apparatus reverses, to reverse its movement.

A robotic walker (10) and associated method are provided. The robotic walker (10) includes a housing (20) containing a control unit (22) operatively connected to a drive unit (24). The drive unit (24) is operatively connected to a pair of motorized drive wheels (14). The robotic walker (10) includes first and second winches (18), each winch (18) having a strap (60) that can be retracted by its respective winch (18), each winch (18) is operatively connected to the drive unit (24), each strap (60) having an end adapted to be removably connected to a pair of leg braces worn by a user. The first and second winches (18) may retract a portion of each respective strap (60) to move the legs of the user forward. A first control button (40) is operatively connected to the control unit (22). The control unit (22) is configured to operate the robotic walker (10) in at least one control mode and the first control button (40) being operable to start the at least one control mode.

Eine Steighilfevorrichtung (1) für zumindest ein Rad (10) eines Fahrgeräts umfasst: einen starren Schwenkhebel (20) mit einem ersten Schwenkhebelende (22) und einem zweiten Schwenkhebelende (24), wobei der Schwenkhebel drehbar gelagert ist und zumindest einem Rad derart zugeordnet werden kann, dass das erste Schwenkhebelende in Fahrtrichtung A über den Radumfang des Rades übersteht, um in Fahrtrichtung mit einem Hindernis (100) eingreifen zu können, so dass das Rad auf das Hindernis hinauf geführt werden kann, und wobei das zweite Schwenkhebelende entgegen der Fahrtrichtung über den Radumfang des Rades übersteht, um mit einem Hindernis eingreifen zu können, so dass das Rad von dem Hindernis herunter geführt werden kann. Под лотком (2), (22), (38) установлен ведущий элемент (5). Автономные массажные элементы (8) могут различаться по форме внешней поверхности (32), твердости материала, наличию замкнутой полости (49), наличию выступов (31) на внешней поверхности (32). Их легко и удобно укладывать в лотки (2), (22), (38) с возвышением над стенками (4), (24), (40) и фрикционным сцеплением с ведущим элементом (5), переставлять и удалять. В качестве автономного массажного элемента (8) может быть использован теннисный мяч, бильярдный шар, игровой мяч. При перемещении ведущего элемента (5) автономные массажные элементы (8) перемещаются вдоль лотков (2), (22), (38), оказывая массажное воздействие на пациента. Достигается расширение функциональных возможностей устройства при конструктивной простоте.

A CPM chair for repeatedly flexing and extending a patient's knee permits a patient to remain comfortably seated while controlling therapeutic knee flexure and extension. A slide member is longitudinally reciprocal between extended and retracted positions with its slide direction controlled by the patent. A drum has an endless cable wrapped about its periphery and is rotated in alternate directions by a reversible electrical motor. The cable extends over respective forward and rearward pulleys and is secured to the slide member. A pedal assembly supports the patient's foot and is pivotally secured to the slide member to accommodate different positions of the patient's heel. Control switches are actuable by the patient to control slide member direction.

Therefore, the massaging device has a detachable member (38) installed on an armrest (5) for movement along guide rails (37), with a fitting groove (39) formed in the detachable member (38). A forearm massaging machine (7) constructed to be capable of grasping the forearm of a subject by a fixed support (46) and a gripper (47) to apply a pressing stimulus to the forearm is provided with a fitting projection (40). The forearm massaging machine (7) can be removably mounted on the armrest (5) by removably fitting the fitting projection (40) in the fitting groove (39).

The invention relates to a device fitted in the frame (1) of a seat back for adjusting the height and/or curvature of an elastically flexible supporting component (4) for the lumbar vertebrae of a passenger, in which each device has a gear (12) with a worm (14), a worm wheel (15), a pinion (16) and a toothed component, and a drive. According to the invention the gear (12) is directly coupled to the drive in such a way that its rigid output shaft (13) carries the worm (14) engaging with the worm wheel (15). The pinion (16) is secured axially in the worm wheel (15) and meshes in a plane parallel to the work wheel (15) with a cog (17), whereby there is a reel (21) arranged on the cog (17) to which the end of the traction wire (23) of a Bowden gear (24) is secured and can be wound thereon. The cog (17) has at least one projection which acts in a definite and limiting fashion with mating surfaces in the housing (11) of the gear (12). The drive is preferably an electric motor (9).
