Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door drive device for a vehicle which can sufficiently decelerate the rotation of a motor while enhancing the degree of freedom in arrangement in a vehicle door by reducing a size smaller in the width direction of the vehicle as a whole. SOLUTION: In a drive member 21, a drum 23 is arranged in such a manner as to at least partially overlap a space of an interval L in the width direction of the vehicle which is formed of an outer shape of a drive motor 22. The drive member includes: a first small-diameter gear portion 41 which is connected to a rotating shaft 22b of the drive motor 22; a transmission gear 42 which comprises a first large-diameter gear portion 42d constituting an intersecting shaft gear G1 together with the first small-diameter gear portion 41, and a second small-diameter gear portion 42e arranged at one side in the axial-direction separated from the rotating shaft 22b of the first large-diameter gear portion 42d; a sun gear 48 which has a second large-diameter gear portion 48b and a sun gear portion 48a arranged at the other side in the axial-direction and approximating the rotating shaft 22b of the second large-diameter gear portion 48b; a ring gear 46 which constitutes a fixed shaft; and a carrier 47 which has a planetary gear 54 and is connected to the drum 23 in an integrally rotatable manner. Abstract: One embodiment relates to a door operator including an operator body including a rotatable pinion, an arm connected to the pinion, an inductive sensor mounted adjacent the arm, and a controller in communication with the inductive sensor. The inductive sensor includes an inductor comprising a plurality of nested coils, and each of the coils is curved about the pinion. The controller is configured to provide the inductive sensor with a varying power signal, and the inductive sensor is configured to inductively link the inductor to the arm in response to the varying power signal. The inductive sensor has a characteristic which varies in response to the rotational position of the arm when the inductor is inductively linked with the arm. The controller is further configured receive information relating to the characteristic, and to determine the rotational position of the arm based upon the received information.

Abstract: A door operator with an electrical back check feature is disclosed. Embodiments of the present invention are realized by a motorized door operator (20, 200) that electrically creates a back check force for an opening door (22). The door operator simulates the back check normally created by hydraulic means in convention door closers, but without the use of pistons, springs or hydraulic fluid. The door operator includes a motor (202, 550) disposed to operatively connect to a door so that the door will open when the motor moves, and a position sensor (120, 240, 510) to determine a position of the door. A processor (552) is programmed to exert a closing force on the door in the back check region. In some embodiments, the closing force is exerted by injecting a voltage into the electric motor of the door operator.

Abstract: Disclosed is a vehicle door driving apparatus provided with a driving mechanism and a rope member. The driving mechanism is fixed to an inner section of a vehicle door which opens and closes a door opening formed in a vehicle body, the driving mechanism including a motor and a drum which is rotationally driven by the motor. The rope member is wound around the drum and linked to the vehicle body, and rotation of the drum is transmitted to the vehicle body by way of the rope member which causes the vehicle door to open and close. The drum is disposed in the inner section of the vehicle door in such a way as to at least partially overlap in a dimensional space in the vehicle width direction defined by the external shape of the motor. The driving mechanism is provided with: a first small-diameter gear linked to the rotary axis of the motor in such a way that the first small-diameter gear rotates together with the rotary shaft of the motor; a transmission gear rotatable around the axis extending in the vehicle width direction; a sun gear rotatable around the axis extending in the vehicle width direction; a ring gear disposed on the same axis as the sun gear; and a carrier which has a planet gear that engages with the sun gear and the ring gear, and which is linked to the drum in such a way that the carrier rotates together with the drum.
