    Abstract: PURPOSE: A waveguide-plasmon resonance sensor and an image system are provided to improve sensitivity of the waveguide-plasmon resonance sensor by coating a dielectric thin film doped with active ions on a metal layer as a waveguide. CONSTITUTION: An active ion doped waveguide-plasmon resonance sensor includes a conductive film(122) for providing surface plasmon and a dielectric medium(110) aligned at one side of the conductive film(122). A light source(130) radiates incident light, which is incident into the conductive film(122) through the dielectric medium(110). A dielectric film is coated on the other side of the conductive film(122). A sample(123) is attached to the dielectric film. Active ions(171) are doped into the dielectric film. Active ions(171) are excited by incident light(131), thereby generating fluorescent light(139). A light receiving section(140) is provided to measure intensity of fluorescent light(139).

    Abstract: PURPOSE: An automatic extraction method of rib edges in chest X-ray images is provided to read accurately the chest X-ray image in a preprocessing procedure of a chest X-ray image by extracting automatically the boundary of the rib.     Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for setting an index of osteoporosis is provided reliably check the osteoporosis by eliminating the effects which is generated by an X-ray photographing and a film printing condition. CONSTITUTION: An interested area is set in a radius image when a density of the osteoporosis is estimated by using a radius X-ray image. Then, the osteoporosis index is set in a predetermined interested area. A real bone density is estimated from the predetermined radius index. The interested area setting is accomplished by setting a center of the interested area by using the center of the circular which is in contact with the inner circle of the radius. According to the method for setting an index of osteoporosis, the osteoporosis is reliably checked by eliminating the effects which is generated by an X-ray photographing and by a film printing condition.

    Abstract: Provided is an ion beam treatment device. The treatment device includes a positive ion generation target which includes a positive ion generation thin film and nanowires on at least on side of the positive ion generation target, and a laser which irradiates laser beams to the nanowires by projecting positive ions to the tumor region of a patient by generating positive ions on the positive ion generation thin film. The nanowires can include a metal nanocore and a polymeric shell which surrounds the metal nanocore. A laser beam irradiated to the nanowires forms surface plasmon resonance. A proximity field reinforced with surface plasmon resonance more than the intensity of a laser beam is formed. Positive ion are released from the positive ion generation thin film by the proximity field.
