    Abstract: PURPOSE: Provided is a low specific gravity thermosetting composite material composition for outer panels of car bodies, which has excellent formability under the low pressure when press molding. CONSTITUTION: The low specific gravity thermosetting composite material composition contains: 5-30wt% of an unsaturated polyester resin; 0.5-15wt% of a crystalline saturated polyester resin as a thickening agent and a low profile agent, a crystalline unsaturated polyester resin as a thickening agent, or a mixture thereof; 1-15wt% of a low specific gravity filler; 10-50wt% of an inorganic filler; 15-45wt% of a fiber type reinforcement; 0.5-35wt% of monomers; 0.01-2wt% of an initiator; 0.1-5wt% of a releasing agent; and 0.01-5wt% of additives. And the low specific gravity thermosetting composite material is produced by molding the low specific gravity thermosetting composite material composition by a sheet molding compound(SMC) method.
