Abstract: PURPOSE: A console locking device is provided to prevent articles within a console main body from being thrown out and to prevent secondary damage to a driver or passengers due to opening of the console main body by disabling the console main body from being easily opened in case of collision or sudden braking. CONSTITUTION: A console locking device comprises a console main body(10), an armrest(20) and a catching member(100). The console main body(10) has a receiving space portion(11) therein. The console main body(10) has a magnet(50) built-in at the front side thereof. The armrest(20) is pivotally connected to the console main body(10) at the rear end thereof. An iron piece(60) is provided at the front lower side of the armrest(20) corresponding to the magnet(50). A predetermined depth of catching groove(21) is formed at the bottom of the armrest(20) adjacent the iron piece(60). The catching member(100) is provided at the upper inner surface of the console main body(10). The catching member(100) is caught in the caching groove(21) of the armrest(20) in case of collision or sudden braking to thereby prevent abnormal opening of the armrest(20).
