    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prepare a water selective and permeable separating membrane having such practical performances as superb separability, mechanical strength of membrane, etc. by utilizing photo-crosslinked photosensitive polyvinyl alcohol derivative to apply the porous high-molecular membrane. CONSTITUTION:The water solution of water soluble photosensitive resin such as polyvinyl alcohol or partial saponifiable vinyl acetate, etc. shown in the formula is applied on the porous high-molecular membrane such as cellulose acetate porous membrane, exposed to the interior light and the like after air-drying, sensitized and crosslinked with water soluble photosensitive resin to render the said membrane insoluble. By utilizing the composite membrane thus prepared, pervaporation is carried out to separate the water-ethanol mixing solution and the like.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled resin suitable for the adsorption and recovery of trace metallic ion dissolved in seawater, by reacting a specific polyethylenimine derivative with hydroxylamine. CONSTITUTION:The objective resin having the hydroxamic acid residue of formula on the side chain can be produced by (1) reacting (A) a crosslinked polyethylenimine polymer compound obtained e.g. by the graft-polymerization of polyethylenimine to crosslinked polystyrene, etc., with (B) an acrylic acid ester e.g. in a dispersing medium (e.g. water) to obtain a polyethylenimine derivative having propionic acid ester residue on the side chain, (2) suspending the product in a solvent containing hydroxylamine and (3) reacting at a temperature between room temperature and the boiling point of the solvent for 1-5 days.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To efficiently obtain methane gas, by using methane producing bacteria included and immobilized by a photosensitive polyvinyl alcohol prepolymer having a stilbazolium group in the side chain thereof. CONSTITUTION:Methane-producing bacteria included and immobilized by a photosensitive polyvinyl alcohol prepolymer having a stilbazolium group in the side chain thereof as a photosensitive group are used in org. waste water or org. waste. The introducing ratio of the stilbazolium group into the photosensitive polyvinyl alcohol prepolymer is pref. 1.0-7.0mol% to the mol number of the vinyl group is the prepolymer. From the aspect of the production of methane, it is effective and preferable that the polymerization degree of the polyvinyl alcohol component of the photosensitive polyvinyl alcohol prepolymer is 300-2,500 and the saponification degree thereof is 65-88%.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance water and solvent resistances, and storage stability and to improve resolution and surface smoothness by using as an essential component a specified photosensitive polyvinyl acetate saponified deriv. as a protective colloid. CONSTITUTION:The emulsion resin compsn. is composed of an aq. emulsion of a film-forming resin and its protective colloid represented by formulae I and IV, consisting of a main chain of a polyvinyl acetate saponified product represented by formula II and V, and photosensitive units each represented by formula I (a part of formula II is said main PVA chain; m is 1-6; n is 0 or 1; Y is formula III; R1 is H, alkyl, or the like; R2 is H or lower alkyl; and X is an anion), and hydrophobic units each represented by formula IV in which R3 is H, 1-18C alkyl, phenyl, or the like. Both units permit the photosensitive resin compsn. to have water developability, the image parts obtained by exposure hardening to be enhanced water and solvent resistances, and said compsn. to be stably stored for a long period by using only a water medium.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal cell using a tilt alignment film for a liquid crystal having high productivity in which any tilt angles can be designed, by irradiating a resin film containing a photoisomerization reaction structural unit with non-polarized light in an oblique direction. SOLUTION: A resin film containing a photoisomerization reaction structural unit is irradiated with non-polarized light in an oblique direction to form a tilt alignment film for a liquid crystal. The resin film used contains a photoisomerization reaction structural unit, and the photoisomerization reaction structural unit preferably has at least one double bond selected from N=N and C=C bonds and causes geometrical photoisomerization reaction by irradiation of light. As for the photoisomerization reaction structural unit having N=N bonds, for example, azobenzene and azopyridine can be used. As for the photoisomerization reaction structural unit having Cr=C bonds, for example, stilbene and stilbazole can be used. As for the resin containing the photoisomerization reaction structural unit, any of vinyl polymers, ring-opened polymers or the like can be used.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improveme the sensitivity and heat resistance by forming this material with a specified high polymer compound, a diaryl iodonium salt and a specified p-aminobenzylidene derivative. CONSTITUTION:The material is consisting of one part of the high polymer compound composed of 30-100 mol% a structural unit expressed with formula I, 0-70 mol% a structural unit expressed with formula PI,and 0.02-0.2 parts a diaryl iodonium salt and 0.03-0.2 parts p-aminobenzylidene derivative expressed with formula III. In formula I,R1 denotes tert.-butoxycarbonyl group and tetorahydropyranyl group, and in formula PI,R2 is H,or methyl group,and R3 is 1-4C of a lower alkoxycarbonyl group, aryloxycarbonyl group,etc. In formula III,R1 and R2 is lower alkyl groups and X is H atom and phenyl group, etc., and Y is a residual group selected from acyl group,cyano group, etc., and (n) is 0 or 1.
