Abstract: The invention relates to copolymers of: (A1) 70 to 100 mol % of at least two different monoethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid monomers, and; (A2) 0 to 30 mol % of one or more non-ionic monomers that have been reacted with; ( B) 5 to 30 mol %, with regard to the functional groups, which can be amidated a nd which are contained in the copolymer comprised of monomers (A1) and, optionally, of (A2), of an amino-C1-C2-alkanesulfonic acid and/or of a salt thereof. The invention also relates to the production of these copolymers an d to their use as an additive to washing, cleaning and clear rinsing agents.
