    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title molded item having excellent pressure resistance and being especially suitable for instrumental analyses such as ionic liq. chromatography, by providing ion exchange groups on the inner wall face of a hollow molded item made of an org. polymer. CONSTITUTION:The title molded item is a hollow molded item made of an org. polymer (when a liq. is passed through the inside of the hollow molded item, it is pref. that the liq. neither permeates through nor breaks the inner wall and the inner diameter is 10-3,000mu) and has ion exchange groups on the inner wall face. When a high pressure is applied, conventional ion exchange resins and ion exchange fibers are densely filled to increase the resistance to liq. flow and the shapes are eventually broken. The ion exchange hollow molded item of the present invention has excellent pressure resistance and high freedom of the shape in comparison with the conventional ion exchange products. When this tube is bent to form a coil shape, etc., an effective area can be sufficiently ensured. It can be effectively used in the field of instrumental analysis such as ionic liq. chromatography where especially high separation efficiency is required.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject hollow yarn membrane excellent in chemical and heat resistance, by spinning a spinning solution consisting of a specific fluororesin with an internal injecting solution having low coagulating property and then treating the resultant yarn with a solution of concentrated sulfuric acid and formaldehyde. CONSTITUTION:The aimed hollow yarn membrane obtained by dissolving a fluororesin, such as polyvinyldiene fluoride, consisting of constituent units expressed by the formula -CF2-, -CFRf- and/or -CF(ORf)- in combination with constituent units expressed by the formula -CH2-, -CHF- and/or CClF-, in a polar organic solvent, preferably acetone, dimethyl sulfoxide, etc., to prepare a spinning solution, then spinning the above-mentioned spinning solution using a liquid having low coagulation property for the afore-mentioned fluororesin as an internal injecting solution to form a fluororesin based porous hollow yarn membrane having a gradient type cellular structure and subsequently treating the resultant hollow yarn membrane with a solution consisting of concentrated sulfuric acid and a formaldehyde source.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a metal oxide thin film which enables low temperature treatment and continuous treatment, has a wide range of selection of the shape and material of base materials, and particularly excels in the affinity for the surface of an organic polymeric material. SOLUTION: The coating fluid for forming a metal oxide thin film comprises a metal oxide precursor and a substance having a photocatalytic activity. The method for forming the metal oxide thin film comprises coating this coating fluid and then irradiating the coating film with light rays. The metal oxide precursor is not particularly limited if it can be converted to a metal oxide by the hydrolysis condensation reaction and, simultaneously, can be made into a coating fluid, and alkoxides of various metals and their derivatives, nitric acid salts, chlorides, complexes such as acetyl acetonates, and the like, can be used as the metal oxide precursors.

SOLUTION: The polysulfide comprises structural units (I) through (IV) or (I), (III), and (IV), and is characterized in that unit (III) is bonded to unit (I) or to unit (IV) and that unit (IV) is positioned at an end. Unit (I) is -(SCH2CH2 OCH2OCH2CH2-Sx)and/or -(SCH2CH(OH)CH2-Sx)-, unit (II) is -(R1O)n-R1-, unit (III) is -X-Ar-X-, and unit (IV) is -SCH2CH2OCH2OCH2CH2-SY and/or -SCH2CH (OH)CH2-SY, wherein R1 is an alkylene groups having 2-4 carbon atoms, Ar is an aromatic ring, X is a functional group, and Y is a hydrogen atom or Si(R2)3. Provided also is a matter produced by hardening the polysulfide by using a polyisocyanate compound or a polyepoxy compound.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve infrared ray absorption, wear resistance, scuffing resistance and surface strength of an infrared ray absorption hard coat film by including an infrared ray absorber and a vehicle. SOLUTION: A bar code paint is obtained by compounding per 100 pts.mass of at least one vehicle selected from an organosilicon compound represented by the formula: R1xR1ySi(R3)4-x-y, its hydrolyzate and its hydrolytic condensation product, and an infrared ray absorber of 0.1-50 pts.mass, preferably 1-30 pts.mass comprising a squaric acid (derivative) represented by the formula, (in the formulas, Ra and Rb are each an alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, epoxy, glycidoxy, amino, mercapto, methacryloyloxy, or a hydrocarbon group having cyano; R1 and R2 are each an alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, halogen, epoxy, glycidoxy, amino, mercapto, methacryloyloxy, or a hydrocarbon group having cyano; R3 is a hydrolyzable group; and x and y are each 0 or 1). The bar code paint is applied onto a transparent base so that it has a thickness of 0.1 μm-1 mm, thereby obtaining the bar code film.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a surface-modified inorganic fine particle less liable to the deterioration of the function due to a remaining unreacted surface modifier, or the like, by heat-treating an inorganic fine particle at a specified relative humidity or above after treatment with the surface modifier. SOLUTION: Inorganic fine particles such as fine particles of oxide of Si, Ti, Al, Zr, Sb, W or Sn are treated with a surface modifier such as a silane coupling agent, a titanium coupling agent or an organometallic compound, preferably the silane coupling agent. The treated inorganic fine particles are heat-treated at >=50% relative humidity and a temperature between 50 deg.C and the boiling point of the surface modifier, particularly 100 deg.C for 1 hr to 1 week. An organic solvent is used in combination with the surface modifier and the treated inorganic fine particles are separated by the distillation-off of the solvent, filtration, centrifuging or other method. After the wet heat treatment, dry heat treatment is preferably further carried out at >=50 deg.C.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a moisture-setting type coating composition suitable for coating materials, sealants and adhesives showing resistance to weather, light and yellow discoloration, and also resistance to chemicals, e.g. acids, alkalis and solvents, of the required characteristics of resistance to weather, light, yellow discoloration, acids, solvents, water and alkalis. SOLUTION: This composition gives a coated film, which, after being set, holds at least 70% of the initial glossiness of the surface contaminated with 5 wt./vol.% aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide and 5 wt./vol.% aqueous solution of sulfuric acid for 168 h, when the initial surface glossiness is at least 70%. The coating film surface also holds, after being set, at least 70% of the initial glossiness and a color difference (ΔE) of 2 or less when it has an initial glossiness of at least 70% and is treated by a sunshine weather-O-meter for 1000 h.

SOLUTION: The compound having a protected mercapto group is a compound prepared by protecting at least one of the mercapto groups of a compound having at least two mercapto groups in the molecule and is a compound prepared by protecting one of the mercaptan group of diethylene glycol dimercaptan, trimercaptobenzene, a polysulfide polymer or the like with a methoxymethyl group, an alkoxycarbonyl group or a silyl group, especially desirably a trimethylsilyl group. The compound having at least two C-C double bonds is a compound obtained by reacting a compound having the double bond in a maleimide group or styrene, especially desirably (meth)acryloyl group and a group reactive with an active hydrogen group with a compound having at least two active-hydrogen-containing groups.
