    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition comprising an aromatic polyester comprising specific units and forming an anisotropic melt phase and an olefinic polymer, excellent in flowability, heat resistance and impact resistance, and reduced in the anisotropy. CONSTITUTION:This composition comprises (A) 100 pts.wt. of an aromatic polyester comprising units of formulas I-IV or units of formulas I-V (X is group of formula VI or VII; Y is group of formula VII, VIII, etc.; but the carbonyl groups of the dicarboxylic acid component in the group of formula IV have mutually meta- and/or para-relations, and the units II+III and the units IV+V are equimolar each other), and (B) 0.1-60 pts.wt. of an olefinic polymer (preferably ethylene-glycidyl methacrylate copolymer). The component A is preferably obtained from p-hydroxybenzoic acid giving the unit of formula I, 4,4'- dihydroxybiphenyl giving the unit of formula II, ethylene glycol giving the unit of formula III, and terephthalic acid and/or isophthalic acid giving the unit of formula IV.
