Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photosensitive paste which makes high-precision pattern formation possible at low cost by compounding inorganic particles with an organic component containing an acrylic copolymer which contains a component having a specified mol.wt. or lower in a specified content. SOLUTION: This paste comprises 50-95 wt.% inorganic particles and 5-50 wt.% organic component containing an acrylic copolymer and has a viscosity of 2,000-200,000 cP. In addition, 0.05-10 wt.% photopolymerization initiator, 0.05-10 wt.% sensitizer, 0.1-30 wt.% antioxidant, 0.001-10 wt.% ultraviolet absorber, etc., are compounded, As the inorganic particles, a glass powder having a 50 wt.% particle size of 1-5 μm and a specific surface area of 1.5-2.5 m2/g can be used, and conductive noble metal (e. Z. Ag) particles, ceramic particles, etc., having an average particle size of 1-5 μm and a specific surface area of 0.1-3 m2/g can also be used. The acrylic copolymer, since it has ethylenically unsaturated groups (e.g. vinyl groups) as side chains and containing 1 wt.% or lower component having a mol.wt. of 1,000 or lower, has a wt. average mol.wt. of 3,000-100,000 and a resin acid value of 60-120 mgKOH/g.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a simple structure and compactness by swelling a printing plate by contact with a swelling solution and/or a developing solution and squeezing the swelling solution and/or the developer from the printing plate. SOLUTION: An original plate of a planographic printing plate is freed of the cover film, sent to a swelling part 5 and passed between conveying rollers 51. In order to swell the original plate, water or a water-base swelling solution is fed to the surface of the plate through a molton roller 52 to swell the hydrophilic swellable layer of the plate. In a developing part 6, a developer is fed from a spray nozzle 61 and rubbing development is carried out in the conveying direction of the plate with a developing brush 64 which is stored with the developer fed from a spray nozzle 63. In a squeeze part 7, the developer is squeezed from the plate by squeeze rollers 71. The printing plate 1 led by conveying rollers 91 is dyed with a dyeing solution fed from a spray nozzle 92 and the dyeing solution is removed by squeeze rollers 93. The visibility of a visible image is enhanced by the dyeing.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photosensitive paste enabling a high definition patterning to be performed in a single patterning step by using a photosensitive organic component containing a copolymer having carboxyl groups and an amine compound having a specified ethylenically unsaturated group. SOLUTION: The photosensitive paste comprises inorganic fine particles and a photosensitive organic component containing a copolymer having carboxyl groups and an amine compound having an ethylenically unsaturated group of the formula R1R2R3N, wherein R1 is a substituent containing an ethylenically unsaturated group, R2 and R3 are each a substituent containing an ethylenically unsaturated group, H, a 1-20C alkyl, aryl or the like and R2 and R3 may be the same or different. The copolymer having carboxyl groups is obtained, e.g. by selecting a monomer such as acrylic acid or methacrylic acid and carrying out copolymerization using an initiator such as azobisisobutyronitrile and a copolymer having a low thermal decomposition temperature in firing and using a (meth)acrylic ester and (meth)acrylic acid as copolymerizable components is preferably used.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve image reproducibility by forming a heat-sensitive layer sensitive to a laser beam provided on a base with a hydrophilic surface, of a polymer containing one type of functional group selected from among a hydroxylic group, an amino group and others, a metal chelate compound and a solvent-soluble binder polymer as principal components. SOLUTION: The master for the lithographic plate which describes an image using a small output laser based on digitized image information has a heat- sensitive layer sensitive to a laser beam formed on a base with a hydrophilic surface. In this case, the heat-sensitive layer is formed of a polymer containing one type of functional group selected from among a carboxyl group, an amino group, a mercapto group, an ethylenic unsaturated group and a metal chelate compound and a solvent-soluble binder polymer as principal components. In this heat-sensitive layer, heat is generated by absorbing a laser beam energy when irradiated with the laser beam and a crosslinking non-solubilization reaction occurs due to an action between the functional group and the metal chelate compound contained in a resin to form a fast image.

The structure and mol.wt. of the polymerizable compd. are not especially limited, but in order to allow a photosensitive planographic printing plate to maintain stable performance at ordinary temp., it is necessary to prevent the removal of the polymerizable compd. by volatilization from the printing plate, accordingly the compd. preferably has about >=150 deg.C b.p. under atmospheric pressure and a compd. having the structure of an acrylic acid or methacrylic acid deriv. is preferably used from the viewpoint of high polymn. reactivity. The inorg. fine particles preferably have 0.001-10μm primary particle diameter.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a planographic printing plate having high ink repellency without carrying out desensitization, controlling dampening water over a wide range and capable of making dampening water free from isopropanol by forming a specified hydrophilic swellable layer on a substrate by heating a copolymer contg. (meth)acrylate units an vinyl alcohol units and a crosslinking agent at a specified temp. SOLUTION: This planographic printing plate has at least a hydrophilic swellable layer on the substrate and the layer is formed by heating a copolymer contg. (meth)acrylate units and vinyl alcohol units and a crosslinking agent at >=120 deg.C. The copolymer forms a water-insoluble layer by simple heating at >=120 deg.C and adheres tightly to a layer under the hydrophilic swellable layer. This layer swells with water practically only in the thickness direction at the time of absorbing water and this printing plate is excellent in ink repellence and printing resistance and can make dampening water free from isopropanol.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a planographic printing plate material controlling dampening water over an extended range, capable of making dampening water free from isopropanol and unnecessitating desensitization through simple producing processes by incorporating an azido compd. into a hydrophilic swellable layer and/or a photosensitive layer formed on the swellable layer. SOLUTION: At least a photosensitive hydrophilic swellable layer is formed on a substrate and an azido compd. is incorporated into the swellable layer and/or a photosensitive layer formed on the swellable layer. The azido compd. is, e.g. arom. azide having an azido group bonding to the arom. ring optionally through a carbonyl or sulfonyl group. The azido group photodegrades and forms nitrene. This nitrene causes various reactions and insolubilizes. A water- soluble bisazido compd. is preferably used in consideration of crosslinkability. The amt. of the azido compd. in the photosensitive layer is about 1-50wt.%, preferably 3-20wt.%.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart high ink repellency and excellent printing durability without performing desensitizing treatment by forming an image line part on a hydrophilic swelling layer by an ink jet system using a photopolymerizable ink compsn. and irradiating a printing plate with active light to cure the ink compsn. to form the image line part. SOLUTION: After an image line part is formed on the surface of the hydrophilic swelling layer provided on the base plate of a planographic printing plate by an ink jet system using a photopolymerizable ink compsn., the image line part is irradiated with active light to optically crosslink the ink compsn. to fix the same in the hydrophilic swelling layer. In printing, an optically crosslinked oleophilic component obstructs the water swellability of the hydrophilic swelling layer when the hydrophilic swelling layer comes into contact with damping water and rubber elasticity is reduced by the increase of crosslinking density and, therefore, an optically crosslinked/fixed part becomes an image line part having ink depositing properties. A non-image line part on which the photopolymerizable ink compsn. is not sprayed can be largely swollen by water when the hydrophilic swelling layer comes into contact with water.
