    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prepare a polyester compsn. excellent in the adhesive properties, transparency, sliding properties, and mechanical properties by compounding specific inert particles into a polyester obtd. from a specific acid component and a diol component comprising an alkylene glycol. CONSTITUTION:100 pts.wt. polyester obtd. from an acid component comprising terephthalic acid, an arom. dicarboxylic acid having a metal sulfonate group (e.g. 5-sodiumsulfoisophthalic acid) and a 4-20C aliph. dicarboxylic acid (e.g. adipic acid) and a diol component comprising an alkylene glycol (e.g. ethylene glycol) is compounded with 0.005-3 pts.wt. inert particles having a mean particle diameter of 0.01-1mum and selected from group consisting of silica, CaCO3, kaolin, BaSO4, talc, and a crosslinkage polymer.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject resin composition excellent in long-term light resistance by blending a cerium-containing zirconia particle as an ultraviolet absorber excellent in ultraviolet screening and durability and having a low bleeding property. CONSTITUTION:A zirconia particle containing preferably 1-50mol%, more preferably 2-30mol% cerium produced, e.g. by adding a base such as aqueous ammonia to a mixture solution of salts of zirconium and cerium, carrying out coprecipitation by neutralization and subsequently crystallizing the resultant material under heating in a pressure vessel, i.e., the hydrothermal crystallization method is added to a resin in a form of a slurry prepared, e.g. using a kneader having a vacuum-line in a ratio of 1-50wt.%, preferably 1-30wt.% based on the total amount of the resin composition. The zirconia particle is kneaded into the resin while removing the solvent, thus obtaining the objective resin composition excellent in light resistance.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title film having improved abhesiveness, excellent transparency and mechanical characteristics and being useful for light packaging films for medicines, foods, etc., by copolymerizing a polyester with two specified dicarboxylic acid components at a specified ratio. CONSTITUTION:This polyester film is obtd. by copolymerizing an acid component comprising terephthalic acid, an arom. dicarboxylic acid contg. a metal sulfonate group (e.g., 5-sodium sulfoisophthalic acid) and a 4-20C aliph. dicarboxylic acid (e.g., succinic acid) and a diol component consisting of alkylene glycols at a ratio wherein said acid component satisfies formula I (wherein X is a molar ratio of the arom. dicarboxylic acid contg. a metal sulfonate group to terephthalic acid) and formula II (wherein Y is a molar ratio of the 4-20C aliph. dicarboxylic acid to terephthalic acid). By using said film, adhesiveness is improved and transparency and mechanical characteristics are excellent, so that the film is suitably used for packaging medicined and foods, self-adhesive tapes, belt-shaped strings, etc.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a composition, having excellent slipperiness and abrasion resistance and especially suitable as magnetic tapes, by homogeneously dispersing calcium carbonate particles having calcium phosphate formed on at least part of the surfaces in a thermoplastic polyester.     Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled polymer having excellent surface flatness, surface slipperiness, abrasion resistance, etc., and suitable for fiber, etc., by adding silica alumina particles having a specific particle diameter, a phosphorus compound and an alkali metal compound, etc. in the form of a slurry to a polymerization system and carrying out the polymerization. CONSTITUTION:The objective polymer can be produced by compounding (A) 0.01-3.0pts.wt. (based on 100pts.wt. of polyester) of a silica alumina (e.g. kaolinite) having an average particle diameter of 0.02-5.0mu with (B) 0.01-40pts. wt. (based on 100pts.wt. of the component A) of a mixture of (i) a phosphorus compound (e.g. pyrophosphoric acid) and (ii) an alkali metal compound (e.g. sodium hydroxide), slurring the obtained mixture in e.g. glycol under ultrasonic vibration and adding the slurry to a polymerization system of polyethylene terephthalate. An alkali metal salt of a phosphorus compound (e.g. sodium pyrophosphate) may be used in place of the component B.
