Abstract:
A method of dynamically damping an electric motor (12) that is controlled by an H-bridge driver (16) by interdigitating power pulses with braking pulses by switching from a power switch mode to a shorting circuit mode with switches (22 and 26) closed that brakes the electric motor.
Abstract:
There is provided a hinge rotatably connecting a first body to a sacond body, including (a) a main body to be fixed onto the first body, the main bodyr including a hollow cylindrical portion horizontally extending, (b) a rotation shaft fixed at one end to the second body and rotatably connected at the other end to the main body, (c) an outer collar connected to the hollow cylindrical portion of the main body in a direction in which the hollow cylindrical portion extended extends and (d) a frictional collar filling space therewith between the rotation shaft and both the outer collar and the hollow cylindrical portion. For instance, the first body may be a keyboard, and the second body may be a display screen in a note-type computer. The hinge ensures smooth rotation between the first and second bodies, and further ensures a greater upper limit in the rotation number than that of a conventional hinge used in a note-type computer.
Abstract:
Door hinge with a locking device based on a field force, including a cylinder divided by a piston into working spaces that are filled with an operating medium whose viscosity can be changed by means of a field force. The working spaces are connected to one another by at least one flow connection that is subject to the influence of a field force generating element. The door hinge is designed as a pivot bearing, wherein the cylinder takes the form of a bearing eye and the piston takes the form of a rotary piston with at least one blade.
Abstract:
An automatic door operator for swing doors which uses a worm gear transmission to connect the motor to a belt and pulley which in turn is connected to a spur gear and drive gear. The door arm of the swing door is connected to a double-ended shaft which is part of the drive gear. A rack and pinion gear and spring are used to provide the closing force to the door arm. The motor is mounted over the spring and the belt and pulleys are located alongside the motor which results in a compact non-handed design.

1,227,248. Door closing device. OY WARTSILLA AB. 20 Aug., 1968 [21 Aug., 1967], No. 39682/68. Heading E2M. [Also in Division F2] A fluid-braked door closing device has a piston 2 screw-threadedly engaged by a cylinder 1, the piston having a fluid chamber 4 which communicates with the cylinder via a non-return valve 8 and a return duct provided with an adjustable throttling means 13 which may be operated from outside the device. There is also a constant throttling means provided by an annular gap 10 between the piston and cylinder and an opening 11 in the piston wall. Movement of a door attached to the arm 7 causes rotation and thus axial displacement of the piston so that fluid flows from the chamber 4 to chamber 5 via valve 8. When the door is released, a spring 9 urges the cylinder I back to its initial position relative to the piston 2, fluid returning to the chamber 4 via ducts 12 and 11. The screw 13 may be made of a material having a greater coefficient of expansion than that of the piston so that the throttling effect and thus the closing speed of the door remains substantially unchanged with changes in temperature.
Abstract:
A hinge assembly for supporting a gate includes a mount plate securable to a fixed support. The mount plate includes a pair of arms that define slots. A gate mount is securable to a gate structure such as a rail or panel and includes a pivot housing supported for movement within the slots. Posts supported within the pivot housing provide support for rotation of the gate mount about an axis of rotation relative to the mount plate. A position adjustment member is adapted for moving the pivot housing within the slots for setting a distance between the mount plate and the gate mount.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a door unit, especially a motor vehicle door unit, comprising a movement transfer member (3, 4) connected to a door leaf (1) and provided with a drive shaft (4), and at least one fixing device (5, 6, 7) for the door leaf (1), the fixing device (5, 6,7) comprising at least one chamber (6) filled with a hydraulic medium (5) and a displacement body (7) that can be moved inside the chamber (6). The hydraulic medium (5) can be modified in terms of its properties, especially with regard to its viscosity.
Abstract:
A door closer with a control unit is disclosed. The control unit (110) for the door closer (90) includes a drive gear (302) configured to rotate in response to movement of a door, and a chain (308) arranged to cooperate with the drive gear. Various operating characteristics of the door closer can be varied using control circuitry (540). These operating characteristics include latch region parameters for the door. The control unit can include a teach mode a user interface used to determine an installation configuration for the door closer, a position sensor (340, 342) to determine a position of the door, and at least one input switch (2704, 2706, 2710, 2712, 2720) to enable user selection of at least one door closer parameter for an installed door closer. The door closer can also include a calibration mode.

Abstract:
Disclosed is a hinge assembly for rotatably setting a home bar door onto a refrigerator door, and a refrigerator using the same. The hinge assembly includes a hinge axis extended from a home bar door opening/closing an opening in a refrigerator door; and an oil damper including a housing fixed onto the refrigerator door, a rotary shaft inserted into the housing to form a sealed space filled with oil, and connected to the hinge axis to attenuate rotation force of the hinge axis by forming a blade on one side to move in the oil, a penetration opening formed through the rotary shaft and connect the sealed space with exterior, and a fixing member inserted to/fixed to the penetration opening to seal the penetration opening. According to an embodiment, a refrigerator includes a body with a food preservation chamber kept at low temperature, a refrigerator door formed in the body to open/close the food preservation chamber and having an opening penetrating therethrough, a home bar door disposed to open/close the opening and having a hinge axis protruded from a lower part, and the hinge assembly.
