Abstract:
An imaging system includes a platform for placement of a sample or an animal to be imaged, and at least one excitation light source for irradiating the sample or animal to stimulate an emission at a plurality of different center wavelengths. An acousto-optic tunable filter (AOTF) is provided that comprises a piezoelectric transducer crystal for emitting an acoustic wave having a ground electrode disposed on one side of the piezoelectric crystal. A patterned electrode layer is disposed on a side of said piezoelectric crystal opposite the ground electrode. The patterned electrode layer includes a continuous region proximate to its center and a discontinuous region, a pattern in the discontinuous region comprising a plurality of spaced apart features electrically connected to the continuous region, and an AO interaction crystal receiving the acoustic wave attached to the ground electrode or the patterned electrode layer.
Abstract:
A method is provided for measuring a response to a stimulus of a plurality of samples spots of a sample using a measuring system having a measurement range to generate an image of the sample in digital space. The method includes, for each sample, while measuring the response, varying the stimulus to include at least one stimulus value where the measured response corresponds to a value in an intermediate portion of the measuring range, and storing a value of the measured response that corresponds to a value in the intermediate portion of the measurement range, and the stimulus value that produced that value of the measured response.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatus, and system, implementing and using techniques for detecting a presence of one or more target analytes in particular regions of interest of one or more samples. One or more samples including objects and one or more target analytes are provided. Some of the target analytes are labeled with a fluorophore and are bound to some of the objects in the samples. The samples are illuminated with fluorescence inducing light and fluorescent light is collected from one or more regions of the one or more samples. At least one anisotropy measurement of the samples is performed to identify regions of interest where one or more target analytes are bound to the objects. The collected fluorescent light from the regions of interest is analyzed to determine a presence of target analytes that are bound to the objects in the one or more samples.

In the spectrometric device of this invention the objective lens and diffraction grating are replaced with a spectral imaging apparatus on electrically switchable color filter technology. The spectrometric device comprises wavelength filter means as the spectral imaging apparatus for transmitting or reflecting wavelengths of light, light intensity sensor means arranged and disposed to measure the intensity of the wavelengths transmitted or reflected by the wavelength filter means and generate an electrical signal from the wavelengths transmitted or reflected, output processing means connected to the light intensity sensor means to receive and process the output from the light intensity sensor means, and display means connected to the output processing means to display the output.
