    Abstract: A liner setting assembly is useful in setting a liner into a casing string secured in a borehole of a well. The liner setting assembly includes a cone and a cage. The cone enables slidably fitting over the liner, the cone having grips with an oblique notched face forming an engaging surface. The cage receives the cone and includes a second set of grips having oblique notched faces. The cone and cage assembly is secured to the casing string by the grips. Since the cone has a sliding fit in relation to the liner, the operator can reciprocate and rotate the liner even after the cage and cone assembly has been securely engaged with the casing string in the borehole, thereby enabling a positive indication of the correct set position prior to the cement bonding of the liner to the wall of the well.

A support arrangement for a percussive tool 43 such as a road breaker or drill, comprises a frame I having a column 13 on which is mounted a slidable sleeve 18 carrying the tool, the sleeve being supported and adjusted by a pneumatic piston-and-cylinder device 23 under the control of a valve 69. The piston-rod 32 of the device 23 is connected to a platform 19 secured to the sleeve 18 and the cylinder is connected to brackets 24 on the column via spring-loaded plunger devices 23 which cushion the vibration of the tool; a number of tools may be mounted on the platform, their handles (44, Fig. 3) being clamped thereto, via a resilient block 47, by means of U-bolts 45. The frame 1 is mounted on wheels 5, one of the wheels being driven by means of a compressed-air actuated motor 49, via a belt-and-pulley drive. The air to the tools and the motor 49 is controlled by means of valves 57 and 63 respectively.
