Abstract:
The invention relates to a distribution system for the intake and exhaust in an internal combustion engine. According to the invention, a cylinder is connected to an exhaust manifold by means of a connecting valve 10. An intake mainfold 10 opens into the manifold 14 by means of an intake valve 14 making it possible to regulate the flow of air and re-cycling of the burnt gases. The advantages attained by the invention include: achieving optimum characteristics of the flow of air and re-cycling of the burnt gases, obtaining optimum characteristics of the flow, reduction in temperature of the exhaust valve and assisting in starting and partial running.
Abstract:
Motor propulsion unit consisting of the combination of an internal combustion engine and of a hydrostatic transmission, in particular for fitting to an automobile vehicle. According to the invention, the motor propulsion unit comprises an internal combustion engine (60) linked mechanically to a hydrostatic transmission device comprising at least one pump (12) with a piston (13), said pump being driven by said engine and an elastic accumulator connected to the pump or each pump, said pumps being connected to a volumetric motor (14).
Abstract:

Abstract:
The cylinder head contains in addition to the conventional inlet and exhaust valves and combustion chamber, an ignition chamber (8) and a storage chamber (9). The two chambers are separated by a hydraulically operated poppett valve (12). The ignition chamber contains the fuel injector nozzle (14) and joins up with the combustion chamber by a restricted passage (27). The poppett valve opens as a result of compression from the main combustion chamber during compression stroke and is pushed onto its seat by hydraulic force (16) 20 degrees before piston top dead centre and released 30 degrees after top dead centre. The stored air is then able to mix with the combustion gases and reduce the toxic exhaust content.
Abstract:
The engine has a piston (1) reciprocating in a cylinder (3) driving a crankshaft through a connecting rod. A cylinder head (9) at the top of the cylinder contains a single poppet type valve (13) operated by an engine driven cam. The manifold (11) surrounding the valve is open to the exhaust passage and contains a non return valve (12) linking it to the inlet passage (10). On the exhaust stroke the discharged gases close the non-return valve and leave through the exhaust. As soon as the piston starts to move down the non-return valve opens to admit a fresh charge. The exhaust valve does not become overheated and the output of the supercharger is more easily matched to the needs of the engine.
Abstract:
The diesel engine has a crankcase (1) piston (2) and crankshaft (3). The cylinder head (4) has inlet (10) and outlet (11) values and a separate combustion chamber (8). The combustion chamber (8) communicates with the accumulation chamber (9) through the orifice (14) which is partially obstructed by the hydraulic cylinder (13). Thhe combustion chamber (8) be shut off from the compression chamber (5) by the value (12). This value (12) is actuated by hydraulic pressure acting on a piston inside the cylinder (13). The value (12) opens before top dead centre of the compression stroke and then closes after ignition during the expansion. The timing of the opening and closing of the value can be altered depending on whether the engine is being supercharged or not.
