SOLUTION: A holder is provided with a fastening tool 33 and an inserted cutting blade 10 provided with a pocket including at least a shoulder in the radial direction. The inserted cutting blade 10 is formed into an octagonal base shape and provided with eight cutting blades 16 (16D, 16E, 16F, ...) formed by a transient part between the upper side face of the inserted blade and the blade face. The upper side face is provided with a plurality of projection parts. The projection parts facing each other separately from cooperating cutting blades are leant onto the fastening tool 33 when the inserted blade 10 is moved in the radial direction.

A cutting edge front edge angle is set at 4 to 8 degrees, λ is at 1 to 4 degrees, and γ is at 4 to 7 degrees. It is thus possible to obtain a flat surface whose split surface is a good finishing surface in using the cutting insert for cutting work.
