Abstract: Disclosed is a bio-inorganic hybrid composite for retaining and carrying bio-materials with stability and reversible dissociativity, represented by the following chemical Formula I and a method for preparing the same. The bio-inorganic hybrid composite is prepared by (a) coprecipitating with an alkaline material an aqueous solution comprising a bivalent metal (M(II)) and a trivalent metal (N(III)) at a molar ratio satisfying the condition of 1/5 ≤b/(a+b)≤ 1/2 wherein a and b represent a mole number of M and N, respectively, to form a stable layered double hydroxide in which anions are intercalated and (b) subjecting the intercalated anions to ion exchange reaction with a bio-material to compensate for layer charges of the layered double hydroxide. This composite is harmless to the body and artificially controls the appropriate expression of the bio-material retained therein. ÄM  1-xN  x(OH)2Ü ÄABIO  Üx/n.yH2O wherein, M is a bivalent metal cation; N is a trivalent metal cation; ABIO is an anionic bio-material with n charges; x is a rational number between 0 to 1; and y is a positive number.

Abstract: PURPOSE: The aim is to provide a bio-inorganic hybrid complex which can carry genetic materials between layers of metal layered double hydroxide by anion exchange reaction. CONSTITUTION: The invention provides the complex of formula I (M2+1-xN3+x(OH)2)(An-)x/n·yH2O, wherein M represents metal cation such as Mg¬2+, Ni¬2+, Cu¬2+ and Zn¬2+ which are alkali-earth metals or transition metals having a valence of two. N represents metal cation such as Al¬3+, Cr¬3+, Fe¬3+, V¬3+ and Ga¬3+ which are transition metal having valence of three. A represents anionic bio-compounds such NO3¬-, CO3¬2-, Cl¬-, SO4¬2-, meta late and organic acid having a valence of n. 0 0. Charge of the layer can be controlled by changing the ratio of the metal according to X. This complex is non-toxic, reversibly dissociated and stable.
