    Abstract: PURPOSE: An extracellular enzyme which is prepared by culturing Fomitopis palustris in a culture medium containing ligneous biomass, especially rice straw, a method for producing the same, and a method for saccharifying the biomass are provided to enhance cellulase activity. CONSTITUTION: A saccharifying method for producing bioethanol comprises: a step of adding Fomitopis palustris-derived extracellular cellulase into a culture medium containing a rice straw substrate as a carbon source; and a step of saccharifying at 45 deg. C and pH 4.5-5.0 or adding Tween20. A saccharified material for producing bioethanol is prepared by the method. The saccharifying ability of the Fomitopis palustris-derived extracellular cellulase is improved in rice straw with low crystallinity of cellulose.
