    Abstract: A kit for genetically discriminating ginseng species by restriction fragment length polymorphism(RFLP) methods is provided to improve reproducibility and accuracy of discrimination, and evaluate relationship and genetic mutations among ginseng species. The kit for genetically discriminating ginseng species by restriction fragment length polymorphism(RFLP) methods comprises a DNA extracting reagent, a PCR reagent containing sense and antisense primers and restriction enzymes, wherein the sense primer has the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:1 and the antisense primer has the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:2; and the restriction enzymes include Sau3AI capable of recognizing the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:3. A method for genetically discriminating ginseng species comprises the steps of: extracting DNA from a ginseng sample; preparing the reaction solution containing extracted DNA and sense and antisense primers; PCR-amplifying the reaction solution; performing the RFLP method with the amplified DNA product.
