Abstract: PURPOSE: Provided are a nucleotide sequence and a putative amino acid sequence containing a fibroin gene isolated from Antheraea yamamai and its promoter, thereby producing transformed silkworms capable of producing raw silk-thread of Antheraea yamamai. CONSTITUTION: The nucleotide sequence containing a fibroin gene isolated from Antheraea yamamai and its promoter is represented by SEQ ID NO: 1. The amino acid sequence encoded by the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1 containing a fibroin gene isolated from Antheraea yamamai and its promoter is represented by SEQ ID NO: 2. A nucleotide sequence of the fibroin gene isolated from Antheraea yamamai comprises from nucleotide 1,672 to nucleotide 9,789 of SEQ ID NO: 1. A nucleotide sequence of the promoter of the fibroin gene of Antheraea yamamai comprises from nucleotide 641 to nucleotide 1,671 of SEQ ID NO: 1.
