Abstract: PURPOSE: A thickening system is provided, which can thicken and further gel an oil-in-water type nanoemulsion form composition without giving an effect to the cosmetic characteristics of the composition. CONSTITUTION: Oil-in-water nanoemulsions comprises oil globules with an average size of less than 150nm comprising at least one oil, at least one amphiphilic lipid, and at least one polyethylene glycol (PEG) derivative chosen from PEG esters and PEG ethers chosen from compounds of formula(1): R1-(O-CH2-CH2)n-OR2. In formula(1), R1 is chosen from linear and branched, saturated and unsaturated alkyl groups and acyl groups comprising 8 to 30 carbon atoms respectively, R2 is chosen from a hydrogen atom, linear and branched, saturated and unsaturated alkyl groups and acyl groups comprising 1 to 30 carbon atoms respectively, and n is a number ranging 80 to 350.
