Abstract:
The present invention provides a user interface control method capable of enabling intuitive operation for an object included in an image. To this end, the present invention includes: a step of receiving a first image of the front through a first image input unit installed in a user interface control device; a step of receiving a second image of a user input means at the back through a second image input unit installed on the opposite side of the first image input unit; and a step of measuring the distance to the user input means using the second image and changing a selectable object from an object having the shallowest depth to an object having the deepest depth among a plurality of objects in the first image as the measured distance gets shorter, and displaying the object. By doing so, it is possible to intuitively select an object in an image since a distant object from a front image, i.e. an object having a deep depth, is selected by a user stretching the user input means far towards the user interface control device and a close object, i.e. an object having a shallow depth, is selected by closely stretching the user input means.

Provided are a method for extracting information on a three-dimensional distance from a recognition object and an apparatus therefor capable of efficiently saving electric power necessary to detect a gesture input while accurately determining the gesture input which is inputted by a user using information on a distance from a recognition object. The method for extracting information on a three-dimensional distance using the apparatus therefor according to the present invention comprises the steps of: determining whether a recognition object exists within a preset range or not; generating a three-dimensional image of the recognition object in case the recognition object exists within the preset range; and calculating a distance from the recognition object using the three-dimensional image. PURPOSE: A camera apparatus and a control method of the same are provided to conveniently control an operation of the camera apparatus according to a gesture of a subject inputted through a lens of a camera. CONSTITUTION: A camera (110) generates a present frame by receiving an image inputted from outside. A gesture recognizing unit (120) compares the present frame with a previous frame which is stored before the present frame. The gesture recognizing unit detects a gesture of a subject included in the present frame and the previous frame. A control unit (140) determines whether the gesture is a gesture user interface (UI) or not. An apparatus for controlling the operation of a portable terminal having a removable case is provided. The apparatus includes a plurality of display units, each of the plurality of display units disposed in at least one of a front surface and a rear surface of the portable terminal, a detecting unit for detecting that at least one of the front or rear surfaces of the portable terminal is proximate to a corresponding cover of the removable case and a controller for activating a display unit disposed in one of the front and rear surfaces of the portable terminal when proximity of a corresponding cover of the removable case to said one of the front and rear surface is not detected. Accordingly, a user's ability to shift between screens is more easily performed and may be performed without a separate key input.
