Abstract: PURPOSE: A digital broadcasting transmitter, a digital broadcasting receiver, and stream processing methods thereof are provided to transmit and receive a transport stream including base data, thereby improving receiving performance. CONSTITUTION: An SRS(Supplementary Reference Signal) insertion unit(340) inserts a supplementary signal into a transport stream. A RS(Reed-Solomon) encoder(350) performs RS encoding of the transport stream. An interleaver(360) interleaves the RS-encoded transport stream. A trellis encoder(370) performs trellis encoding of the interleaved transport stream. The trellis encoder is initialized before the trellis encoding of the supplementary signal is performed.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A digital broadcasting transmitter and a stream processing method thereof are provided to configure and transmit a transport stream capable of maintaining compatibility with an existing digital broadcasting transceiving system. CONSTITUTION: A MUX(Multiplexer) unit comprises a TS(Transport Stream) MUX(310) and a TS post MUX(320). The MUX unit configures a TS including a stream and supplementary information used in processing of the stream. A RS(Reed-Solomon) encoder(350) performs RS encoding of the TS. An interleaver(360) interleaves the RS-encoded TS. A trellis encoder(370) performs trellis encoding of the interleaved TS.

Abstract: A method for enhancing a color temperature of a color image is provided. Gains for input image signals are calculated based on a predetermined gain function. A first offset value corresponding to a change in a predetermined color temperature of output signals is calculated. A second offset value is calculated based on the gains and the first offset value. The second offset value is added to a B signal of the output signals. A compensation gain is calculated in consideration of the intensity of the B signal to which the second offset value is added. The compensation gain is added to a G signal. Thus, a desired color temperature can be obtained regardless of the intensities of R, G, and B output signals.

Abstract: PURPOSE: DVD information transmission device and a method for the same are provided to transmit DVD information without regard to a function and construction of a device receiving a transmitted data, by properly varying a transmission format in order to output DVD information. CONSTITUTION: A device for transmitting DVD(digital versatile disc) information to another device includes a stream format converter, a re-coding device, and a stream selector. The stream format converter converts audio information and video information having a stream format to a transmission stream format, and provides a first stream. The video and audio information is read from DVD. The re-coding device mixes a video information with a sub-picture information from DVD, re-codes the mixed information according to a compressed coding system of a predetermined video information, and provides a second stream. The stream selector selects a first stream or a second stream according to a bandwidth of a transmission channel and information processing capacity of the device. The stream selector transmits the selected one to another device. Thereby, DVD information transmission device transmits DVD information without regard to a function and construction of a device receiving a transmitted data.

Abstract: 수신 성능 향상을 위한 디지털 방송용 전송 스트림 패킷의 구성방법과 디지털 방송 송신기 및 그의 신호 처리방법이 제안된다. 본 발명에 따르면, 동기를 위한 알려진(Known) 부가기준신호(SRS: Supplementary Reference Sequence) 데이터 삽입을 위한 스터핑 영역(stuffing region)을 포함하는 전송 스트림 패킷을 구성하고, 스터핑 영역을 포함하는 패킷을 랜덤화하여, 랜덤화된 패킷의 스터핑 영역에 부가기준신호(SRS) 데이터를 삽입하고, 부가기준신호(SRS) 데이터가 삽입된 패킷에 오류정정을 위한 패리티를 부가한다. 또한, 패리티가 부가된 패킷에 대해 인터리빙을 수행하고, 인터리빙된 패킷에 대해 트렐리스 인코딩을 수행하여, 트렐리스 인코딩된 상기 패킷에 세그먼트 동기신호(Segment sync)와 필드 동기신호(Field sync)를 삽입한 후, 동기신호를 삽입한 패킷을 VSB 변조하고 RF 변환하여 전송한다.
