본 발명은 제1 디바이스와 제2 디바이스간의 인증 방법에 관한 것으로, 본 발명은 제1 난수를 생성하고, 그 생성된 제1 난수, 제1 디바이스의 공개 키 및 제1 디바이스의 폐기 여부에 대한 정보를 전송하고, 제1 디바이스가 폐기되지 않은 경우에 한하여 수신되는 제1 디바이스의 공개 키로 암호화된 제2 디바이스가 생성한 제2 난수 및 제2 디바이스의 폐기 여부에 대한 정보를 수신한 후, 암호화된 제2 난수를 제1 디바이스의 비밀 키로 복호화하고, 제2 디바이스의 폐기 여부에 대한 정보에 따라 제2 디바이스가 폐기되었는지 여부에 대하여 판단하고, 그 판단 결과에 기초하여 제1 난수 및 제2 난수를 이용하여 생성되는 임시 키를 선택적으로 생성한 한 후, 임시 키가 생성되면, 컨텐트를 암호화하기 위한 컨텐트 키의 암호화에 이용되는 공유 키를 임시 키를 이용하여 암호화하여 전송함으로써, 폐기되지 않은 장치에 대해서만 인증을 수행할 수 있다. 인증, 등록, 폐기, 키

A method and apparatus for generating and updating a license for content and for providing content are provided. The method of generating a license includes generating license signature information for authenticating the license; generating use rule information for controlling the use of the content; generating authentication code information for authenticating a coupon for changing at least a portion of the use rule information; and generating key information required for decrypting the content.

An information storage medium, a reproducing device and a reproducing method are provided to optimize reproduction of contents and to provide updated information by actively searching for a software version through an active application. An information storage medium(100) comprises contents(110) and an active application(120). The active application confirms the software version of a reproducing device controlling the contents, and supplies new information according to the confirmed software version. The active application is composed of a medium code which is operated independently of a platform, and a program code controlling reproduction of the contents according to the confirmed software version.

본 발명은 CE 장치 관리 서버를 이용한 DRM 키 발급 방법에 관한 것으로, DRM 키의 발급 요청을 수신하는 단계; CE 장치를 인증하는 단계; CE 장치의 인증이 성공하는 경우, DRM 키를 저장 및 관리하는 키 서버에 DRM 키의 발급 요청을 송신하는 단계; 키 서버로부터 DRM 키를 수신하는 단계; 및 CE 장치로 DRM 키를 송신하는 단계를 포함함으로써, CE 장치가 DRM 키를 편리하고 안전하게 발급받을 수 있도록 하는 효과가 있다.

PURPOSE: A server, a client device, a transmission stream generation method, and a transmission stream processing method are provided to change and update a device key for each a desired period and a channel. CONSTITUTION: A scrambler(110) scrambles broadcast content by using a specific key. A control unit(120) generates a transmission stream by adding a content encoding message, which includes the specific key, and a device key, which obtains the specific key from the content encoding message, to the broadcast content. Abstract:
An authentication method and an authentication apparatus are provided to prevent a large number of devices from being registered by adjusting the number of registerable devices in an authentication list. A random number generator(470) generates a first random number. A transmitter(460) transmits a first random number, a public key of a first device, and expiry information of the first device. A receiver(410) receives a second random number and expiry information of a second device. The second random number is generated by the second device and encrypted by the public key of the first device, when the first device is not expired. A decoder(420) decodes the second random number using a secret key of the first device. A device expiry determining unit(430) determines whether the second device is expired according to the expiry information of the second device. A key generator(440) selectively generates a temporary key by using the first and second random numbers and a determined result from the device expiry determining unit. An encrypting unit(450) encrypts the public key for encrypting a contents key using the temporary key, when the temporary key is generated.

A method and an apparatus for protecting digital contents in a UMS(USB Mass Storage device) are provided to prevent the contents stored in the UMS device from being distributed without limitation, by enabling a user to register the UMS device in a USB host connected through the UMS device and a USB port directly. According to a method for managing registered data of a UMS(USB Mass Storage) device, a random key is generated by the request of a user(220). The generated key is displayed through user interface(230). The registered data is encoded by the generated key(240). The registered data is kept by a USB host connected to the UMS device in order to use the encoded contents of the UMS device(250).
